Unless you all the consoles your opinion about which version of a game is better is not relevant :)

No maybe not.
But the price difference is.Posted 3 years ago # -
I hate people who own all the formats but still hold a preference to one specific format with the same bullshit fan-boy attitude.

I find it easier just to hate everyone. Life is much more simple then. :D

The comments sections for fanboys is almost as bad as it is on EG. How do people live life with such blind faith in a machine, it's almost scary as those religious types.
In 30 years we'll have fundamentalist Sony fans bombing Microsoft HQ and vice versa.

Oh I wouldn't say VG247 is anywhere close to being as bad as EG. If it was, I wouldn't post here.

I own GTA IV on the PS3 and 360 and I hate it on both formats.

I feel I am less of a PS3 fanboy now, partially becuase I feel I have got my moneys worth from the console now, multiplatform development and a small library are less of a problem. And partially due to the lovely people here and on Eurogamer, surprise surprise, that I am not as much of a fanboy anymore.
There's nothing wrong with being a fanboy, if those fanboys can be educated in discussing 'democratically', right?
Everyone here speaks more impartially than they think, and that's important most of the time to actually hold a discussion. But then there is always room for extreme and genuine views to create discussion too.
I have much less of a problem with peoples opinions as long as they are willing to acknowledge others. But that's not easy either.

Well I have certain preferences, but I'd be glad to keep em for myself if people here weren't so incredibly against "that certain company" like ravaging psychos, while encrusting their keybos with sperm whenever certain titles from a very specific company get a piece of news.
having said that, EG is probably the worst community I've ever seen. I tried to post a bit here and there but jesus christ, the comment section alone is so full of berks it really makes you think "what the fuck am I doing here?"

I tend to find the ones that fling the "fanboy!" accusations the most readily are far more the fanboy than those they accuse.
Also, I have far less concerns with fanboys who shamelessly go along with it than those that are transparently devoted to a particular brand of cold, emotionless, silicon but insist they're impartial and who's views should be regarded as coming from a neutral stance.
Anyone that spends more time investing information and data on a console they *don't* own for the sake of throwing baiting comments into a discussion over anything about the machine they *do* own - that's a pretty major red flag being waved right there. And can normally be seen pretty clearly by objective viewers.
It all comes out in the wash, people's double-standards and hypocrisy betray their claims of impartiality. People crying about equality one day when they're told their favoured platform isn't the "lead development platform" and then not giving two shits about equality the next day if it turns out they're favoured machine runs the game in question better is a clear-as-day example of such traits.
Additionally, people seem to forget you don't play hardware, you play software. If you love your favoured silicon that much, play the fucking thing without any software on it and see how much fun you have, you misguided twerp.

Just becuase someone is interested in a piece of plastic before the games, doesn't mean they are a piece of shit though. They have just lost their way a little.
I like trying to speak to people like that. See what they think is impartial or objective.

They're made of silicon?
You can stick them in boobies?

Fanboys can be amusing though.
I have to admit, I was amused by the "it rules, no it sucks" motion control debates. Both Sony's and MS's show promise, it doesnt matter who "wins" as long as something is done differently than what the Wii has done. And by that, I mean add the motion control to core games, and make it worthwhile somehow. The truth is that I can see why people hate the companies behind the hardware.
Sony has been arrogant in the past, MS is well..MS!, so its easy to hate on them. Nintendo had their time being arrogant, then was humbed, and now is on top again. The cycle will continue, no one console company has yet to be number one past two generations. It really should be about the games though. If your a fan of FPS titles as an example, you owe to yourself to try the Halo series, Reistance, and Killzone. yeah you might not like them, but it should be because the game sucks, not the platform its on. This can be applied to any Genre.
I admittedly don't own a PS3. I don't hate the PS3 though. I'm not a movie person that much, Blu-ray doesnt really matter to me. I bought the 360 as it was the first next gen system out, and I thought Kameo looked great.
I have mentioned before I'm a western style RPG fan, like fallout 3, MMO's, etc. There is more of that on the 360 than the PS3 currently.
I do want to play Last Guardian and Infamous, Maybe one day I'll get one. Here's a thought. If a Anti-Sony fanboy hates the PS3 so much, then buy a PS3. Sony loses money on it, and if you dont buy any games, never makes it back. Same with a 360, but there is more value with the blu-ray if your into it.
