Valve game is a stretch, but I'd not noticed this :) If only Mass Effect was a christmas release, then you'd have a nice full set.
The PS3 version of Splinter Cell: Double Agent was released in 2007 as well.
Oh, and not forgetting that FIFA 08 (Released in 2007)and other sports games of it's ilk are getting sequels this year :D

2 years is an average development cycle for most big name games, so you will probably find something similar from the same studios 2 years before, and something similar 2 years from now as well.

Funkyd I picked them games because, bar BioShock, not only they're sequels but they came out roughly at the same time.
