Hey peeps, I need to upgrade my graphics card in my main computer but money's too tight to buy anything with much grunt, my limit is about $75 (AUD), i've been looking around & the best contenders are the Radeon 5570, the GT240 & the GT430, sI know the GT240 is slightly faster for gaming with a higher average FPS, anways i would like to hear your opinions, i just don't want to hear anyone reccomend a higher priced card that i cannot afford or Nvidia/ATI fanboy talk.

The 5570 and GT240 are roughly equal (and both better than a GT430) but come in DDR3 and GDDR5 revisions. So of the cards you're looking at if one is GDDR5 then it would be preferable at the same price.
The only other things to consider are dx11 and physx, the 5570 supports dx11, the GT240 supports physx. Neither technology is widely implemented, but dx11 is probably more likely to take off.

Agreed ^^^
This is the down side of PC gaming :( I am often in this situation. I know I need to upgrade but ussualy can never get just what I want, always having to settle.

I would probably say the XFX Radeon 5770 is the budget card of choice at the moment. At least...that's what custom PC says :P.

If videocard supports direct X11 that does not mean it will show it properly.
I would go with 5570. But there is no physX and Direct X11 sucks ass and it's not supporting 3D natively.
While GT240 has physX the performance is worse than in 5570. But be sure to take a 1GB memory card for better performance if possible.2+2=?
But i still think that any of these cards are sucky as hell. Not because they don't run Crysis 2 on max or anything, it's just they are not worth the money.
OG,
"Agreed ^^^"You can always ask people who know about that or call a service that will recommend you what you need for your gaming experience.

Erthazus has a point, if you do buy one of these cards you'll just end up spending more much sooner.
What are you packing now Crysis? You'd be surprised at how much even fairly old gpu's can fetch on ebay, might be worth selling and putting towards something nicer.
I got a new gpu recently and came to the conclusion that the best value for money were the 5770 (as Dralen mentioned) and the 460GTX. I don't know what prices are like in Aus, but here you can often see 5770's running a smidge under £100, which is phenominal value for the performance.

Well thank you for all your opinions, but I think I'll get the 5570, the 5770 & GTX460 costs twice as much & i personally don't care about running games at max settings, I'm happy as long as it runs with a decent frame rate on medium settings, but it's certainly a huge step up from my 4350 & some of the newer games are just starting to reach a minimum requirement close to the 4350, i got the 4350 for piss cheap just as a temporary card til i find something a little better, but the 5570 should last me a year or 2 before i need to upgrade & by that time, prices on higher end cards will have dropped a fair bit then i can pawn of my 5570 or put it in an older computer, in all honesty, if money wasn't so tight, i would get the 5850, but frankly i wouldn't need anything that powerful for quite some time.
