if sony & or microsoft started pricing their new games at $35 - $40 in their new online stores would you be willing to go all digital and be maybe be more inclined to accept there being no trade-ins ???
digital purchases(3 posts)
Nah, I prefer physical games "Although digital copies are really convenient and all, for hard to find JRPG's ," actually having the physical case, manual and disc makes you feel more that you own it. you always have it, it's yours etc..
Lets say, Microsoft or Sony banned your account for some reason. That means you lose access to everything you bought on Xbox Live or PSN etc..This typed of thing just happen to me on PSN. Once Sony banned my account due to it being hacked they just deleted every game. I purchased.. on Playstation Store..
Realized, right then and there.t you don't own the games in the traditional sense. Basically you are paying full price for some games only to rent games. on digital distribution services like Steam, Origin, XBLA, PSN..
That's not to say, I'm against digital games still purchased them from, time to time.. like Tales of Graces F, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Time and Eternity Tomb Raider etc.. I brought retail verison of the same games as well , to keep them as backups..
Absolutely. The convenience of the PS+ collection has convinced me I want to be near pure digital next gen. Disc games will be the exception. I want to share in the reduced costs and benefits this has for devs/pubs though. Not be penalised and feel I'm subsidising discs. So if they aren't cheaper in some way I'll just wait until they are reduced to a price I'm happy to pay.
