I wish i could link that irony video.
Attention VG247 - What I Have Noticed Growing Rapidly Since The Xbox One Reveal.(68 posts)
It's worth noting this kind of thing happens in other industries too, not just gaming. How many conversations have your heard between a Ford and Chevy owner comparing dick size? (Side note, they are both wrong, Subaru is the strongest long-one of all, lol)
It's silly and aggravating, but it isn't unique to gaming.
It doesn't matter that it is, really. I think people should have more self respect than to be brand zombies. You buy a product because it's good, and it does what you want. You like the price, the features, and you feel satisfied with the amount of money you're putting down for what you're getting.
Buying out of blind brand loyalty implies a lack of self-awareness. It's funny that people are scared of transhumanism and humanity becoming more robotic because we're plenty robotic already, and the brand zombies are proof positive of that. They'll buy just about anything their favourite brand puts out.
Who does it or why is irrelevant. I really think anyone who does it ought to have a good look at himself, and ask just how bad it makes them look. You know, common decency, one's image, and all that.
I agree. That's why I try to appeal to their humanity instead of calling for the outright banning them. I think they are good people, but they've just been sucked so far down into the tar-filled barrel that is brand loyalty that they just don't know how to be without it any more. But we all know that it makes them look bad. They should want to be better than that.
Showing unfaltering loyalty to any brand is indicative of an inability to think individually -- no matter what that brand might be. Be it cars, consoles, soft drinks, or whatever else. What brand does is it reduces people to a sort of... tribal status, or worse. You'll have people on both sides flinging their poop like primates.
And it doesn't matter which side a person is on, you're always going to look bad. You're humiliating and embarrassing, both to yourself and to me, for having to read it. I don't want you banned, but I would like you to take a long, long hard look at yourself and ask what you're doing with your life to devote yourself so devoutly to a brand.
A brand is not a cult, I really want people to stop being mindless, hive-like zombies in how they treat it as such. Be people, not zombies.
"I'd take the PS & MS fanboys over the 'PC Wehrmacht' any day, quite honestly."
By which I'd have to assume you mean Erth, no? I'm not even sure when Erth posted last, I haven't seen him around these parts for a while.
So let me get this straight -- you're telling me that you'd prefer all of the brand loyalists, lashing out and attacking everything in fits of embarrassingly rabid hatred to Erth? I'm sorry, I can't agree. I see Erth as s lesser evil, because as bad as he is, he's not running around accusing people of being criminals in almost every post.
So I have to call BS, there.
Furthermore, it's fatuousness of the highest degree to make the assumption that all PC owners are like that. I stand as an example to prove you entirely wrong on that count. You'll note that I have not attacked and never will attack console owners, the only thing I've spoken out in opposition to are closed platforms (including iOS) and brand loyalty.
To me, you just sound like another brand zombie, lashing out at something and hoping it'll stick. I'm not sure which brand you prefer, but I can tell you're just trying to draw attention from the brand wars to try and take the heat off of the asinine ramblings of brand zombies. Nice try, but no cigar.
I mean, really, you're just talking out of your arse at this point. Otherwise, where's the "the PC will dominate" thread, hm? Exactly. Think, then speak.
There are no VG24/7 posters worse than brand zombies (except for perhaps spambots), but still... even then, I wouldn't want to see them banned.
(I was tempted to be kind enough to overlook the idiocy of you having Godwin'd at me, too. But I'm afraid I can't be that magnanimous. So... 'PC Wehrmacht,' eh? Such an intellect, you have.)
I agree it's foolish, just pointing out the observation.
