What is this, 1998?
Saw that on EG, laughed, just to weep bitterly.
It's still beta though...
I was just thinking to myself how much I love GT. I never knew how technical and HILLY Silverstone is. Quite a fun track imo. And all the times I've raced it in Forza and MotoGP I never saw it in the light I've seen it in now. Can't wait for GT6.
On topic, its a demo made to show the new physics engine and to run TTs to complete for the Academy. AI probably would require more than a 1GB install. Also, if you have any skill at all in racing the AI actually acts fairly believable on track.
Yeah, let's make a final conclusion on a WIP game. Oh you Internet...
Those are fails due to player screwing around, probably in multiplayer. So stop with those trolling posts.
It is a demo. Stop being a retard.
@CyberMarco, exactly and the same you can say about the gt6 demo game play that op posted... that was my point with my post. you can stop right now throwing that troll card around, it just make you look like the troll, dumb ass.
I think you are delusional or something. You lack the intelligence to make a point based on facts, even on reality.
Many times I made my point clear, and yeah the AI in the demo is laughable, but it's still WIP.
Go check your brain or something.
I know I shouldn't feed the trolls.
Just got my final gold in the secret special event.
In all fairness, AI has always been a problem of GT, even more so than most racing games out there.
But boy, how they've nailed the physics this time around. The handling is much more sensitive, I've never been this gentle with the steering and the throttle in a racing game before. Even the GT-R was pretty tail happy.
The demo doesn't look all that different compared to GT5, but the experience is totally different.
My lap time sucked though, I can only manage a low 2.24 with a pad. I could go a couple of tenths faster, but I'm way too tired right now.
Man, I'm like 7 seconds off the pace. Haven't really improved much since last year.
"But boy, how they've nailed the physics this time around. The handling is much more sensitive, I've never been this gentle with the steering and the throttle in a racing game before. Even the GT-R was pretty tail happy."
And how it feels is reflected in how it looks. Watching the replays you can see every wiggle, every inch of weight transfer. When you are pushing the envelope, you can see that your car is on the edge. Its fucking awesome. The thing I'm thinking about now is are they gonna do some kind of car transfer. Because I've got cars in GT5 that are limited editions and dlc only. Hmmmm. Can't wait to drive my ZR1 with the new physics! :D
To the topic again. One only has to watch some high lvl B-Spec remote eaces to see how good the AI is in GT5.
@Chunky millions would disagree with you. Nissan too.
Interesting fact, you can tell who's garbage at GT by how they feel about it..
Forza... GT... Still not as fun as MarioKart.
Need for Speed is number 1 with around 140 million units sold.
Mario Kart is number 2 with around 92 million units sold.
Gran Turismo number 3 with around 65 million units sold.
Forza games have only sold something over 10 million.
As funny as the videos of AI fails from both games have been, I don't see the reason for alarm. Sure, they have less than 5 months to fix AI that has no doubt been fixed and tweaked to hell and back already (devs -never- use the latest build for a beta/demo, merely the most stable one available); but Polyphony Digital have delivered before, they'll deliver again.
I know right? Even the Leaf shifts from one side to the other as I made my way through the chicanes in Autumn Ring. A Leaf!
Funnily enough, I was doing the Endurance race in Suzuka with the SuperGT cars the other day in B-Spec. I put my three drivers in an HSV and I was laughing maniacally seeing my level 30something driver unable to pass an SC430 for three straight laps until finally he whisked past the guy right before the 130R. It's not just that they're slow, they're also notoriously unflexible.
They can't overtake or defend their position. So no, the AI in GT5 sucked, whether it's in the A-Spec races or B-Spec.
@Fihar its possible you didn't teach them correctly. I wish I could post some of my replays. My 5 guys are awesome. Some of the overtakes they pull off are ridiculous and clean. Remote races are the best. My brother and I pit our guys against each other and bet on the drivers for fun. Speaking of, if you wanna friend me and put some of your guys offline, I'll run em for ya. I'll warn you though, if they're not that great now, increasing their lvl won't make them all that much better. You have to coach them.
I wish they'd expand the B-Spec some more. Its like an RPG. Having more customization in it would be awesome.
@ChunkyLover "Only PS Fanboys still buy" With all due respect, are you even trying to reason? It is a PS exclusive so if a person owns a PS system they are eager to buy their exclusives, I mean that is really obvious. You buy Halo, are you a Xbot? You buy Zelda, are you Nintendrone?
