How many of you play games on you iOS devices (assuming all of us are console/pc gamers here) and how much would you shell out for something like Shadow of collossus (in terms of experience) on an iPAD? 20 bucks?
In other words should the industry know that most(or a significant)amount of the console gamers actually wont mind playing a "console-like" game on their ipad.. and are willing to shell out a good amount of money for that too.
This is an important question (specially for the devs), because they see the iOS market as a place where traditional game design does not work, so the majority ends up making games which are just not so great. But since it's a low risk-high reward market(though not for all), primarily due to the low-entry-cost for developer AND the user, the amount of people taking a try at it has grown to a mammoth size.
a good (not so great) example are the XP boosters in GoW:J.
That instead of small iOS teams learning from console games to make great experiences, the console Devs are picking up trends from iOS. How long till the "right weapons to defeat the boss" in Uncharted are behind a paywall? or tedious hours of grinding?
I hope I am making some sense here.. lemee know you thoughts.
