I can't decide between these two games, so I'm putting it to a vote. Who else is buying these games on Friday?

well im not buying friday, however, looking for some black friday action on need for speed hot pursuit. didn't like the first ac and will not likely ever play another. so if my vote counts ill be the smokey hot on ur ass!

I would've picked AC, but then again, I don't play racing games.

Playing the nfs hot pursuit demo on ps3 was a disappointment because of the controls. ACB will be the best bet i think. :)

I never got to play the demo for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, I didn't realise they were going to take it off, so I didn't think there was any need to rush. Was it any good, and what was wrong with the controls?

the controls were good on 360 the game had a very good feel. can't speak for the ps3 at all. i don't know what your preference for console is but, the 360 version was alot of fun.

so this is new lordcancer casting a new vote for need for speed. im not welcome because i called foul on pats kid dick shit fucking Kuwabara wanna be troll fag hole. delete me again.

I pre-ordered both and they are on their way now.
But out of the two, as much as I am looking forward to Brotherhood, I could not be more excited for Hot Pursuit.
This is the most excited I've ever been for a racing game. It looked awesome back in Cologne and the demo was really something I enjoyed.
So yeah, Hot Pursuit.

Having played both extensively I have to say its Hot Pursuit every time for me. Its awesome :D

AC: Bro 4 sure!

Never did get the canvasing other people's opinions on two dramatically different games. It's down to what sort of game you want to play isn't it?
NfS:HP handling was on the heavy side - don't expect Burnout and don't expect sim. For example travelling at speed it takes a little while to react to turns - and smooths out your actions a fair bit too. That said it was only early cars in the demo and the intended way to corner is using a little drift. That ups the responsiveness quite a bit.

Both.
But i will take a PC version of ASSASSINS CREED:BR next year on the PC and this year is Need For Speed. I have a lot of games this year already. So i could buy Console version now, but Assassins Creed:BR on PC maybe 5 months later but with better graphics and cheaper.

@Dralen i would go with ACB if you had a ps3 or hot pursuit if you own a xbox 360. And can anyone confirm if the controls arent shitty on the xbox version? I mean i couldn't even steer the car in ps3.

I have £40 on a GAME gift card so I'm picking one over the other and getting the one I don't get for Xmas. I'm going for Hot Pursuit. ACII was only a year ago and I maxed it out, so I'm not exactly jonesing for more of the same.

@Bikki
I did a switch test (both demos loaded up and ready to play) on NfS:HP and if anything the PS3 controls were a touch tighter/better. I'd say the deciding factor between the platforms is probably more about friends you have who will also be getting the game and what platform they are getting it on. The Autolog stuff is where it's at for me.Posted 2 years ago # -

weird post is weird.

I think I'm going to do as Terry Wogan said; Get Hot Pursuit now, and then ask for Assassin's Creed for Xmas :). Alot of people seemed to have loved Hot Pursuit so it should be good. Thanks for everyone's input, much appreciated.

You could likely switch the control scheme on both versions, but they should be the same, the only notable difference between the two is the D-pad is switched with the left stick.
Personally i would choose Assassins Creed over NFS, but they're in completely different genres, like comparing a basketball with a soccerball (sure they are both balls, but the basketball isn't right for kicking & the soccerball isn't right for bouncing).
Both games (so far) have gotten favourible reviews, so if you like racing games & the NFS franchise, get Hot Pursuit, but if you prefer the Assassins Creed games, get Brotherhood.Posted 2 years ago # -
@Bikki you need to break and drift. I've played both demos and that is the "secret".

AC: Brotherhood.
NFS:HP demo did nothing for me, and besides, my racing genre money is going towards GT5 this month.

Hot Pursuit. then again, I hate AC with a passion.

First AC:B review I've found online.

Wooo! Just got my copy of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit in the post, will let you know what I think later.

Dralen - who did you pre-order with ? Still waiting for mine :(

Amazon £37.90 first class post.

Got mine (ShopTo £34.85). Very nice. First couple of events seem to be the demo one - didn't try the Cop one yet but assume it is. After the first racer event you get one with cops chasing you which is actually a lot of fun. They don't just go for you - in fact they seem to concentrate on the leader or whoever is nearest at the time. Reasonably easy to take them out if you have a bit of Takedown experience too.
After that event you get a couple more unlocked and one of these is a "preview" type event where you get a Zonda to drive and just a time to beat. Again great fun and there are some nice hints of some well thought out variety to the game too. For example a nice long straight in the Zonda is broken up by some hidden dips - bringing an element of risk to those taking the oncoming route.

Mine turned up 5 minutes after my last post. 35 quid from the hut posted second class :)

Always order from Shopto.net.
They are almost always cheaper than other stores, plus you get free first class delivery (which tends to get to you the next day).
Assassin's Creed: £33
NFS: £35
Gameplay.co.uk is another good place to order. Just bought my bro Fallout New Vegas for Christmas £23! Free delivery as well.
