99 pages of total madness. I've finally finished uni. After 7½ years in the Danish school system I'm finally FREE! (and very scared)
Just thought I'd share innit.

Congratulations. How will you be celebrating? Hooker?
'Grats.
Congratulations!
Just off to hand it in, in a tick.
It's one small step for Mike...
Gz :D
Good job, that man!
My thesis was the longest piece of work I ever wrote. You could've quite happily clubbed elephants to death with it.
Big up!
Heh, gotta start mine, but it's only 13,000 words, getting of light methinks.
Dissertation anyway, not thesis.
13,000? Pfft, easy. I wrote 10,000 just for GSCE English language coursework. 13k should be a doddle. :P
Oddly enough I'm studying again right now... it fucking sucks. :(
Ha, 10.000 words...
/struggles with 400 word assignment
GCSE? Pffffffffft. Easy peasy!
Writing 10,000 words is easy.
It's making sure that they are good enough to get a good grade that matters.
Congratulations! - What was your thesis on? anything intersting?
I've gotta start writing my 10-15,000 word dissertation soon but shouldn't be too bad... I hope!
Well I got maximum marks for those 10k. But then, it was GSCE. :P
They don't read them y'know. They'll just put ticks through it, and stamp "PASS" on the front.
Roybott: This is my Thesis Statement:
The goal of this thesis will be to examine if American Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama represents Black America's status in the US today.
In the first chapter, the focus will be on Barack Obama. Is Obama simply a "one-off" in terms of that he is a black man who has risen to the lofty heights of the social ladder in The States? How “black” is Obama? In what ways are his political image and careeer options circumscribed by his supposed blackness? How has he himself contributed to this image?
In the second chapter, the focus will be on African-American history from ca. 1965 until the present. I will be looking at racism in the US from the first LA riots (Watts Riots) in 1965 up until the more recent riots in 1992. Then I will study how much has changed since 1992 to present. We must also consider if the riots in '92 reflected a nation-wide frustration or if the unrest was regional and/or exclusively a black-white phenomenon.
In the third chapter I propose to analyze whether or to what extent there is a straightforward and logical relationship between the Obama phenomenon on the one hand and African-American history on the other. In this chapter I will include, among other things, an analysis of what Andrew Hacker refers to as “the black cross-over politician.” I will also pose the question, Has Obama contributed to the strengthening of the black community in the United States?
So what's the state of the African-American community in the US?
Blackness is a word!?
Syrok. :)
It depends on who you ask.
No_PUD: Yeah. It is.
Sounds like quite a hefty topic to cover, when did you start researching it? Before or after he got the nominee or elected?
What is it you study?
6 months ago today (now yesterday in Europe ;) ) is when I started researching it. I had 6 months in which to do it in.
English and Social Sciences.
Because of extenuating problems at home right now, I didn't proof read the abstract that goes at the start of my thesis: basically, it's a two-page summary of what the thesis is about.
I have now realised 3 error in the opening paragraph of this summary. The summary/abstract is the first thing people read when they open the thesis.
This makes me look like a a bit of a cunt as the mistakes are pretty fucking glaring schoolboy errors.
I'm really fucking genuinely upset about it. Basically when anyone reads it the first thing they see in the first line of the first paragraph on the first fucking page is a mistake.
Cunt.

No kidding, I do that all the time on exams. It does work well, never failed me in 3 years now.
Did you write in English or Danish?
