As title says folks Can i change my password???
Also when i click on my profile link it keeps asking for "Authorisation" I put in my username and password and all it does is keep asking me :( so cant change my password that way :( could it be my firefox or somthing else??

This is a problem that they have been planning to "fix" for months.
Along with the spam, which would take five minutes to stop with a quick installation of a WordPress add-on.

Recently, I've been starting to get that prompt when I try to post comments as well.
Same here after posting a comment, Reload two to five times and then it works. Maybe they are already about to fix the password stuff and now facing the comments shit... oh, how i love this php-stuff :-D
Ah, same problem here. Well let's see if a genuine privacy issue speeds up the fixing process. I want to remove my account for privacy reasons. I can't do it because of this stupid problem. Can we have it fixed please?
ya im going to have to agree with jonarob with this one. i want to remove my account due to privacy issues and cannot. i would NOT have signed up for this site to comment on things had i know this problem existed. This is definately a BS problem that should have been FIXED MONTHS AGO from what i gather from old forum posts. how bout you mods start caring about your readers and get this shit fixed instead of the next peice of news that im going to start getting elsewhere unless this gets fixed.
Hello guys. Really sorry for the delay in getting some attention on this issue, you're right - it's not acceptable for this to have gone on for so long. If you're interested, it's caused by a security measure that was implemented by our server admins to combat a pretty serious WordPress exploit. I'll try and get someone to take a look at resolving it as soon as possible.
Once again, really sorry about the inconvenience. Hope to have this fixed up for you soon. Someone will post here as soon as it is.

Wasn't live a sec ago, I tried changing my sons PW so he could remember it. No dice yet.
So it's going up within the next few days then...?

So this has been broken for 7 months? Longer? Only just started visiting but finding broken things at every turn makes me not want to come back. The About and Contact page links both lead to 404s.
The problem with editing profiles is the .htaccess/.htpasswd set up to protect the Admin area. There was an exploit of the Admin area which allowed registered users with posting access to elevate themselves to Admin status. Obviously a bad thing.
But it's been fixed in later versions of Wordpress. So as long as Wordpress is kept up to date the extra protection should only be necessary to fend off exploits between updates. :-/
Pretty sure it's been longer than seven months at this point. I've stopped hoping.
Also, for whatever reason, VG247 is using version 2.8.4 of WordPress. The latest stable release is v. 3.0.4.
Hmmm this is concerning. I just bookmarked vg247 as one of my fast dial sites, because it seems to be a good site for gaming news, but stuff like this worries me.
