I highly doubt they will force you to use kinect for dashboard navigation, the controller will no doubt be usable there. I don't think MS is stupid in that they expect everyone to have a huge living room. There are also people that have a muscle disease, so to speak..those that can't flail there arms around like others but they can hold a controller for example. It will be fine in that aspect i'm sure.</p> <p>So specs-wise it's really up in the air right now by the sounds of it. What will be interesting is this whole GDDR5 vs GDDR3 thing, GDDR5 has higher latency but way more bandwith, I am wondering if it will really make much a difference is MS goes with it.</p> <p>Also, the other rumor was that the new spec has a Dual GPU setup, but not necessarily the same GPU. One could be used for Physics or GUI so that the main GPU wouldnt be tasked with it. That seems rather fanciful but who knows.<br /> The last part of that was that the GPU in the new spec was supposed to be of the 8000 series which AMD hasnt even released yet, again that seems fanciful but MS did do that same thing with the 360, the GPU in it was a cross between the R500 and R600, and the R600 with its unified memory didnt launch to the public until after the 360 did.</p> <p>What worries me about MS is this always online, Always using Kinect, I dont want any of that. I tend to game mostly in my den using a 27inch monitor or a projector and there isnt much room for a kinect. What you said about developers is a good thing, that's definitely more reliable than any rumour anyway. Thing is, there's no real reason for MS to come with a 'weaker' system in terms of specs. I mean..with 360 there was no other way. PS3 came a year later but now they can definitely take advantage of this. With real graphical differences i'd be talking about much more details on the more powerful system, much better framerate and so on. Things that for me can really change the experience. </p> <p>I wonder though, if MS really has a new way of gaming if that's going to be good for multiplatform developers like Ubi, EA and so on. If it's a 360-PS3 story, it ain't too bad. Cause most of the time especially in the early days, multiplats were better on 360. If the system is much weaker though, that is not a good thing.
