I've got a LAPAEL AK-27FEA. It's nothing fancy, but it's Korean-made and has excellent picture quality for the price. It's also the first LED set I've used, so I'm liking the deeper blacks.

Funny you should say you have your sharpness between 10 and 20, because I couldn't decide if 15 looked better than 0 myself. I thought I may be losing a little intricate detail in the background when at 0, but it was very difficult to tell.

The only online guides I've found so far are either too basic, or much too technical, but then again, I haven't looked very hard.

Can you remember which site you used?

Im using a Samsung 46D6530 and generally have the sharpness at between 10 - 20 depending on if im gaming on 360 / PS3 / Wii U or watching films.

I know what you mean though, reducing it to 0 can have a really nice effect, sometimes I can't tell if it's slightly reducing the picture quality though, My eye's like to play tricks with me! ;)

It is worth trying to properly set up your TV though, there are many forums that cover expert tuning. You find a lot of new sets have really intense 'out of the box' settings to lure people in the showroom.

I found a site that helped me set up white balance, clour balnce, HDMI settings etc... (stuff that always looks too scary to bother with!), and the results blew me away. Much better picture quality for gaming and especially movies.

Everything looks awesome now!

What set have you got out of interest?

So I was playing around with my TV's video settings tonight, trying to get the best possible picture for gaming (was using a PS3 at the time), and I found that setting the sharpness all the way down to 0 greatly improved the image.

It appeared to have the same effect as anti-aliasing on PC games, in that it smoothed out all the jagged edges, without blurring the image. I honestly can't believe how smooth the edges are now, and how much of an improvement it is.

Does anyone else turn their sharpness down to 0? Is this common knowledge & I'm just discovering it now?
