The least of its problems. :D I recommend Darksiders 2, Sleeping Dogs was kind of disappointing to be honest.

Yeah, Assassins Creed seems like a drag. I would toss it aside and play Darksiders 2 or Sleeping Dogs if it wasn't because it was the most expensive thing I bought during the Steam sale.

Speaking of screw-ups.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=118366327

That's supposed to be a dog. Not a wood sculpture of a dog, but an actual dog.

Well, if you have to choose between AC3 and Hitman, i'd say you're better off with Hitman.

btw. i recommend this guy:

http://youtu.be/2ftr4-bOs-Q

I'm going to use this place to complain about using Cut-Scenes to hide loading times. Thus making them unskipable. Thanks game. Now I have to watch the same shitty scenes twice each time I start the game again.

urgh.

Thanks guys. I was really leaning towards not buying it anyway. Actually thinking the exact same thing as Edo: "Maybe for 10...".

Hitman has always been a bit of an enfant terrible in my book.

For some reason I love giving it second chances, and then I really get into picking it apart once it lets me down.

To me it's the kind of game that should be more simulation than design, but it has always stuck with design. Rather than being a sandbox, it's a scripted adventure game.

I have a similar relationship with Assassins Creed, and I can tell that I'll be grinding my way through 3 in the exact same way, so I reckon that's all I need right now.

As a Fan of the Series i have to say ... Maybe? :(

I think they made some huge mistakes with the game here.

Saving is gone. You have a checkpoint system now. You can only activate a checkpoint once and it's usually at a place you haven't found yet. Yes, you have to find Hitman Icons floating in the air. These are the ones that active the checkpoint.

The maps serve the narrative now. You have a lot of small areas, where you need to go from A-to-B. Walk through the door to a new, maybe smaller area again.

The instinct mode sounded like a cheating device at first, but is an actual necessity. Got a police uniform? Be ready to walk with your head down. Once activated it is used up quickly and to replenish it in normal mode, you'd have to either kill or subdue an enemy and then hide the body, because otherwise it will cost you points.

Yes, there is a point-system again, but this time it is in your face. The game will immediately remind you now that you fucked up. Fucked up? Be ready to reload the checkpoint. Watch all those scripts restart again, listen to all those dialogs and then go for the kill, if you're lucky it will work.

If not, you're probably playing the china town level where a simple street-cook will point out your street-cook disguise to the police and you'll lose points. How this makes sense, we don't know.

Anyway, i found the game to be a huge enjoyment on easy. So i you buy it and you dislike having to do certain missions ALL OVER again, you might want to play it on Easy first.

For me, nay.

I've actually just started playing it recently and I hate it so much. At one point I was carrying a teenage girl around in my arms just thinking "Why would they do this?".

The entire focus of the game is based around the story, even though the characters and plot is worse than Blood Money, in which there was barely either.

I managed to Silent Assassin one of the early levels just by randomly wandering around interacting with things, no plan, no fore-thought I just walked into one area picked something up, walked into another and mixed it with something else. Done. Go me a true hitman without knowing it.

Then there are the levels based around escape/attack/whatever which more or less forces you into playing a Hitman cover based shooter and punitively punishing you for each person that you kill. Of course its entirely possible to sneak through most of those levels but without a real goal at the other end it becomes pretty pointless. Just use the mark and execute then go hide for awhile.

Its terrible. From the QTE melee kills and the Tap X to knock out faster to the Strip Club level and low-res cut-scenes melding into high def gameplay.

Some poor level design, a ho-hum story and the fact that it'should be called Splinter Cell:Absolution instead...but it's a fairly long and sometimes fun game so go ahead...and wait till it drops to 10 $ :) .

So for 17 bucks, is Hitman Absolution worth playing?

I've kinda gotten the impression that it's a shiny looking game with some poor gameplay, but I figured I'd ask the public.
