Basically its not as good as Wolfenstien 2008 (which is really surprisingly great) but its not terrible.

I actually really enjoy Singularity, ran like ass on the PC and had numerous missing textures and blurry messes all over the place like looking at something up close in Rage.

It jumps the shark far too early and just begins to descend into a slog towards the end. Much like Bioshock aswell I suppose.

Theres one specific part that feels completely different to the rest of the game, almost like it was a Jordan Thomas level not created by Jordan Thomas.

Haha, fair enough monkey.

Honestly I think people went easy on Bioshock considering how poor the shooting was. It was really so simple and unsatisfying that it almost felt out of place with the rest of the game.

I'm hoping that that will be improved with Infinite.

With Singularity I'd rather compare it to Duke Nukem Forever. The shooting makes it feel like an ancient shooter, and while the time warping mechanics, and especially the time travel itself is neat, it's just very very limited.

It's like "You have this great tool that makes things old or new, but you can ONLY use it on these few, select items that have a certain function in the game world".

Great game imo. The time mechanics were cool. Played it 2 years ago. It features 2 endings like bioshock but they only depend on one circumstance in the end game. Not too hard, although I can't remember the difficulty I was playing at. The story is good too, better than bioshock imo.

I went there DSB, oh I went there alright..! :)

Sorry I meant mechanics, I remember watching the start/intro and it reminding me of a bioshock clone...

EDIT

Maybe it was just because of the Unreal engine now that i think about it!

I don't know if I'd go that far myself. Bioshock wasn't just interesting for having a lot of expositiony parts, it was interesting because the exposition was of something interesting, with the whole utopian objectivist project and its characters.

In Singularity it was a lot more like "Har har har, Comrade Father of Nation Stalin is good communist overlord, and he will own entire planet". Which really wasn't ever as subtle or intelligent.

It was more like a clumsy tribute than really more of the same.

The only thing I really remember it for is the dead children. I thought that was pretty gutsy. I don't know if I think it's better or worse for it, but it certainly stuck with it.

I didn't play it all the way to the end, but it wasn't a completely terrible shooter, it was just so oldschool in the gameplay that it just didn't stick with me.

I do remember quite liking the 50's sections. There were a few parts in there where I thought "If Levine had done this, it would rock".

I watched my Girlfriend play it, looked really fun and a solid shooter.

I can't give you any tips i'm afraid, there were a few tricky bits if I recall, mainly with annoying smaller swarming enemies...

So only tip would be: Kill them, Kill them all!!!! :)

Just picked up Singularity today, which you may remember as being Raven's last proper game before Activision turned them into yet another CoD support studio.

It was on sale for just £5 at HMV in their blue-cross sale and as I'm a huge fan of BioShock and Half-Life, I couldn't really say no.

So... who else here has played it? What are your impressions? Do you have any hints/tips or are there any difficulty spikes of which I ought to be aware?

Your thoughts please, gentlemen.
