I don't really care for quantity personally. If most of it is filler, like AC2, then I'm not in a hurry to experience it. I think that would've been a much better game if there had been ten hours less of it.

I definitely love the setting though, so it's going in the basket eventually.

Just finished AC3 today, and it's really the best in the series so far. In terms of open world games, it's one of the best ever in my opinion. Sure, combat is quite easy, but the amount of stuff to do and see is just phenomenal. Expect atleast 40 hours of gameplay if you're a completionist.

That certainly puts Hitman in with Assassins Creed 3 as one for the bargain bin.

The vast majority of games *are* like going to the movies to watch Transformers, though. If I was that disgusted by it, I would probably just stick to books or movies.

I'm sure Far Cry 3 is going to overplay its story just like the previous game, but I'm also hoping that they'll up the ante on the gameplay, and make it a bloody, smoking jungle sandbox worth sticking through.

I'm gonna wait to see the initial response either way though. I don't *need* to get any of them if they're just forgettable AAA trash.

Natural Selection 2 is on my list though. I wouldn't mind reliving the days of playing the first AvP, but a straight up multiplayer game is not the main priority.

I've been casting glances at Emergency 2013. I know it's crap, and it needs to be cheaper, but I did play the first games way back in the day, and there's just something refreshing about playing a game that's about fixing people instead of breaking them.

Ok so Hitman has been pretty badly savaged in this months PC Gamer. The review is by Tom Francis so its pretty trust-worthy.

Heres the review conclusion next to the score :

"A passable stealth game, but one that betrays almost everything that, until now, has made Hitman great."

62%

It seems like story has stuck its un-wanted face into things and more or less just ruined the series. Each levels target is no longer the perfectly carried out kill, its more about collecting things or opening doors. Oh well at least theres Kane and Lynch 3 to look forward to!

Natural Selection 2.

The games you've listed are the worst cash-ins, apart from maybe Hitman. It's like going to the movies to see Transformers.

A lot of good input there.

I usually go retro whenever there's a slump, and I do have my eyes on a bunch of goodies over at GOG. Gotta play Spycraft again at some point.

It likely is too early to call. The line-up just seems kinda straightforward.

Assassins Creed is ultimately going to be more Assassins Creed, Hitman is probably going to be a more modern action-hybrid sort of deal, and Far Cry 3 is likely to be an easy-listening cordite orgy with some CoD-style online for longevity.

No WiiU for me, and I'm a million miles away from my 360, so Halo is gonna be a no-go as well.

Buy a couple of cheap old games instead.

Then leave yourself Hitman and Far Cry 3 to enjoy over the dead months of December and January.

Oribit, the Dreamcast was my all time fav system. In NA it sold 5million unit(very impressive at the time), and had the srongest launch in history(at the time). It failed in JPN, and Sega being JPN born and focsed they pulled the plug. Doing poorly in JPN, they felt, meant failure. Nevermind that NA is the largets market by a large margin, and JPN was infact, at the time, on the brink of complete surrender to handheld gaming.

But yes I freaken loved the Dreamcast. While some folks were playing sp jpn flavoured games, I was playing a bevey of online games. From NFL2K to Speed Devils Online to Phantasy Star Online to Quake Online to Unreal Online, etc..

So many quality games, and the Dreamcast wast way a head of it time.

Where the WiiU reminds me of Dreamcast is because it can do things other systems can't, its graphics are ahead of current systems, but close enough with next "gen" systems it won't matter for years. Comparing graphics to current gen systems is like comparing TG16 to NES/Master system. Everything on WiiU is bigger, brighter and just pops. I make that comparision because TG16 basicly ran a 8bit system. It was just a better one, and it could compete with 16bit systems.

I think the WiiU can be looked at like both Dreamcast and TG16.

I can not overstate how impressed I was of the WiiU. I was actualy considering selling mine. Not anymore, I just preordered a couple more games instead. I have also read that some jurnos have had the same type of reaction after some hands on(including Pat G). It really impressed me.

Well the though choice is Hitman or Far Cry 3. IMO, pick up Far Cry 3 now, I think you're the sort that takes his time playing the game they buy DSB, so I imagine you'll be busy for at least 2 weeks with it. Pick up Hitman sometime after that.

Personally I'd go with Far Cry 3 on PC, if I had the rig to play it, based on how great the first game was, and the better control offered by the keyboard & mouse. It looks like the first one, only better. Of course, I've only ever played the original AC & never played Hitman, so I'm pretty biased here. Those games look good too. Anyway, open-world FPS with wild animals. If that doesn't sell you, I don't know what will.

Well if it were me I would go AC III. I love the navel warfare, I could play a whole game of just that. I also like the setting, the Revolutionary War hasn't been done to death in recent memory, so that is nice too.

I just got my hands on a WiiU for the first time this afternoon, and was absolutly blown away. I had been on the fence, should I keep it or ebay it...I am keeping it. There is zero doubt in my mind now that it is a next gen system. It reminds me of Dreamcast.

So in that regaurd, my nov is going to be loaded up with WiiU games. And yep ACIII is on that list.

Depends what you like to be honest, FC3 has been described as ''Skyrim with guns'', and it'll have alot of content. A free-roam FPS is allways good.

Get Hitman if you like a slower playstyle (the way the game is meant to be played), can't comment on the length of the game though. Overall i'd say wait for reviews and then decide.

Hitman Absolution will be my game too.
When i'm completely done, some time around the summer of 2013 ( :P ) i'll play some Assassin's Creed 3, and then i'll probably be playing HotS for the rest of the year x) If HotS comes out before i'm finished with Hitman, i won't have time for Assassin's Creed 3 until 2014 (i'm actually serious here).

The way I see it, Assassins Creed can be extremely repetitive, and it's a Ubisoft title, so there's no telling how retarded the PC version might be.

That's also a factor with Far Cry 3, but when I'm only getting one, I'd rather it be a pick-up-and-play title, and I think Hitman might be more of an immersive thing.

Probably Hitman: Absolution. I haven't even completed the two Far Cry games, and I haven't got the best experience with AC games. Funny thing is that I haven't played any Hitman EVER. But the trailers and such have just won me over. The game just looks so fucking badass.

Already checked out a German gaming magazine which gave it an 88.

Three good choices. Even with Hitman I'd say they'll all give you plenty bang for your buck. They all over varied play styles as well. From what I've played of Assassins its good. The bugs are too frequent for my taste. I'd say Farcry would be the best pick as long as you like the first person aspect and the is polished. I'd watch it like a hawk. From what I've seen its buggy as well. Assassins will probly be the first of the three to go on sale..Id say wait for the reviews and go for Hitman or Farcry. Leaning toward Farcry for Co op and competitive mp.
