@ Manamana

So you play every game in 720p now? I guess it doesn't even make that much of a difference, but if the screen tearing is gone in alot of games, that definitely is a difference.

I never really notice screen tearing as a general rule, but God DAMN if Deathspank on PS3 doesn't tear like a motherfucker...

@Moonwalker thinking about it, I used to play 1080p and switched to 720p a year ago or so. And regarding Splinter Cell, I played it on my first with component cable. Maybe thats what teared the screen in two?!

@Ire haven't played it but that sounds grim ...

Buy a PC.
Buy a game.

you have two options:

1) Buy a decent monitor

or

2) Use V-sync option

Problem solved for every game.

Resident Evil 5 when you put the 360 to 1080p, then it's tearing hell. If you put it on 720p, it's fine. I bet the RE6 demo videos is a 360 with 1080p enabled. I personally never had a problem with Fallout 3 though. Skyrim in some dungeons on the other hand...wow.

Hmmm, thats interesting regarding RE5.
There's even a video on youtube check out 0:30 or 3:00mins and overall in between. Thats exactly what I encountered ... And boy, Splinter Cell was a tearing nightmare. I wonder, if its a setting issue, though. I play everything on 720p on Xbox.

I can honestly say I don't think I have ever noticed screen tearing yet ppl seem to get so worked up over it. I played SC and RE5 on the 360 as well.

Maybe I need an eye test?

I really hate V-Sync issues in games, it's worse than framerate drops. So where did you encounter the worst screen tearing in games history and on which plattform?

For starters:
1. Splinter Cell Double Agent/Xbox360
2. Perfect Dark Zero/Xbox360
3. Fallout3/Xbox360

I'm shure there are a lot more but I can hardly remember. Oh, yes - RE5! :)
