I don't have any problems either (Except for the the OP flashpoint ad, which is gone now anyway) and I'm using 10.6.1 and Safari.

Odd! It's probably going to be down to some rogue network setting then. It's the only site I had any problems with, and using adblocker clearly fixed the problem. I could access the site with my iPod, so it's specifically going to be down to the flash ads on the edge of the screen.

Oh well, I hope it clears up with the next wave of adverts, I've no problem with ad funded sites, and I'll only adblock like this when it's the only way of accessing the site.

Now we all know Pat lives on press releases and thin air alone. ;)

Which version are you running? That it happened on all the mac browsers makes me think it could be an issue with the OS, I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.1). In fact I've just tried to ping the site, and got 100 percent packet loss:

Ping has started…

PING http://www.vg247.com (94.198.82.15): 56 data bytes
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
Request timeout for icmp_seq 2
Request timeout for icmp_seq 3
Request timeout for icmp_seq 4
Request timeout for icmp_seq 5
Request timeout for icmp_seq 6
Request timeout for icmp_seq 7
Request timeout for icmp_seq 8

--- http://www.vg247.com ping statistics ---
10 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100.0% packet loss

So something is clearly not right.

Just wondering if I'm alone in this? For the past 2 days, I've only been able to access the sites RSS feed, as soon as I click on the site, it hangs on Safari, Firefox & Opera (all Mac). Anyway, I've just re-installed ADBlock for Safari, and low and behold, I can access the site again. Maybe worth dropping a report to the people who provide these adds.
