Read about this yesterday. I believed that I had registered on Gawker, so I downloaded the torrent with the database information and began looking for my login, email and password. Wasn't there, fortunately. Would've had to change all of my passwords otherwise.

I'm registered on one of those sites, but didn't receive a single thing. Gmail's spam filtering is pretty damn tight, so I'm impressed any of them ever went through.

Apparently this happened to a ton of companies across the world. The company that provides email PR for DeviantArt also got their hands on people's information.

Anyone else get a notification from Gawker that their account details have been released to the world?

I for one will be deleting my account the moment they provide the facility for me to do so.

I've been using my current Gmail address for something like 3 years now and in all that time I'd never had a single penis enlargement spam mail, and I've had 20 in the last couple of days.

So yeah, I'm pretty fucking done with Gawker. I hardly ever use their sites. I think that's pissing me off the most. It's some collection of sites I hardly ever use and they've fucked up this badly.
