Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent’s Curse: Episode One is now available on PC, Mac and Linux through Steam and for PC and Mac through GOG. It will run you $19.99/£18.99 for the moment for both episodes, not a piece, mind, but in total. After December 11 you will have to pay full price. The game sees the series return to point and click for the first time since Broken Sword 2. Episode 2 will arrive in January and is also slated for release on PS Vita, iOS and Android.

Starbound has gone into beta and will be made available on Steam later today, and you can also still pre-order the title from its official website. The beta will be released in three stages. The procedurally-generated sandbox title is expected for release on Vita and pulled in over $1 million in pre-orders. The beta trailer is below.

Final Fantasy 8 was added to the Steam registry once upon a time, but was then promptly pulled. Now, the entry has been updated by Square, suggesting something is happening.

The Humble Jumbo Bundle is now available and contains Natural Selection 2, Sanctum 2, Magicka and its DLC. Those who pay over the average, currently sitting at $3.94, will unlock Orcs Must Die! 2: Complete Pack, Serious Sam 3: BFE and Garry’s Mod. Soundtracks are included with select games. Indie Royale has announced its Gaming Tuesday Bundle is now available. It contains five arcade titles: Who’s that Flying?!, Aeternum, Rush Bros., Bad Bots and Defy Gravity. All are available for Windows via Steam except Aeternum which is available through Desura. Rush Bros. and Bad Bots are also available on Mac through Steam. The bonus target of $6 will hand you all of the games plus the the Valence chiptune album by Haberdashery. Hit up the link for more.

Velocity Ultra will be released on Steam next week, Curve Studios has announced. The PC version features every level and secret area as the PlayStation Vita original while taking advantage of customizied controls, and full Steamworks support. The arcade puzzle-shooter with a teleportation mechanic will run you £6.99/$9.99/€8.99 come December 12.

Just Cause 2′s multiplayer mod will arrive on Steam December 16, according to it’s page on Steam. The final beta test for the mod is scheduled to end two days earlier. “JC2-MP is a project to bring multiplayer to Just Cause 2 in all of its magnificent glory,” reads the page blurb. “Imagine the chaos of normal Just Cause 2, then extending it out to dozens, hundreds, and even thousands of players.” The final beta phase ends on December 14. Ashes Cricket 2013 is, apparently, a bloody mess. Publisher 505 Games has removed the game from Steam, and is planning to issue a full refund to anyone who bought it.

The Debut 7 Bundle from Indie Royale is now available. It features six titles: Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae, Metal Planet, Pulse Shift, Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman’s Mine, Millennium 2 – Take Me Higher and Fleet Buster. All the games are available for Windows via Desura and are in Greenlight on Steam. The current minimum is $2.99 and if you pay $7 or more, you will also net the Chiptune Hero EP album by Dj Cutman. Saints Row 4 has a new DLC pack available today which gives the player some batshit crazy superpowers, allowing you to dispatch your enemies in every fashion imaginable. The Element of Destruction pack even lets you turn your intended victim into a time bomb. When the time is up they explode. Then, there’s the Airstrike Stomp where you like Stomp on the ground, sending all enemies in your vicinity flying up into the air like a rocket – and then they explode. Like I said. It’s crazy sounding. Check out the video for it below. The pack will run you $2.99 and if you are in the mood from some Zin outfits, the Zinyak Attack Pack is also out today for $1.99 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

A new video for Total War: Rome 2 has been released, and features commentary from historians Bettany Hughes, Mike Loades, Lynette Nusbacher and Dr. Adrian Goldsworthy along with footage from the game. The documentary short takes a look at The Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, which saw three full legions of Rome destroyed. Watch below.

Garry’s Mod has sold over 3.5 million copies, doubling in sales each year since its release in 2004. According to figures obtained by RPS, this past July was the game’s best in sales.

Borderlands 2: The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler, the second Headhunter add-on for the game, is available on Steam for Mac and PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 today. It will run you $2.99 or your country’s equivalent. In The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler, players will meet up with Mr. Torgue’s “super buff grandmother” while he hosts a hunger-themed competition to hunt down a giant turkey, the Wattle Gobbler, and selects sacrificial recruits from all of the districts of Pandora to participate.
