This week’s North American PlayStation Plus update is quite a good one, with two new well-received titles for your Instant Collection. The first is Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, a PSP release compatible with Vita, and the second is Ico, an HD remastered PS2 classic from the team behind The Last Guardian. Uta no Prince-sama: Music 2 debuted in the top slot on the Media Create charts for the week of September 2-8 with 68,415 units sold on PSP. Splinter Cell: Blacklist debited in second with 22,425 units sold on PS3 and when combined with Xbox 360 sales of 5,109 units, the title sold 27,534. Other debuts for the week included Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, Puppeteer, Killzone: Mercenary and Shirahana no Ori: Hiiro no Kakera 4. Hardware was down over the prior week except for 3DS LL which was up by 10,928 units, 3DS up by 1,241 units and Xbox 360 which sold 201 units compared to the prior week’s 177 units.

Sony has released the August 2013 PSN Top Sellers charts for both the US and UK, and DuckTales Remastered topped the US combined charts and the PSN charts in Europe, with PayDay 2 topping the PS3 full game downloads charts in the region.

XSEED has announced it will publish The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter digitally on Steam and the PlayStation Store. The firm has also announced the First Chapter will also be released on PC.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle debuted in first place on the Media Create charts for the week of Augist 26 – September 1. The PS3 title moved 425,718 units, besting second place Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn and its 184,018 units sold on PS3. Ragnarok Odyssey Ace moved 31,622 on Vita, and took third place.

The North American PlayStation Store now allows you to make purchases from your phone which will be billed directly to via your cell service provider, turning up on your monthly bill or deducted from your pre-paid credit. There may be additional charges depending on your provider. This is particularly interesting in the context of yesterday’s announcement that the PS4 will wake from hibernation to download remote purchases before tucking itself back into bed. Namco’s Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Masou Kishin III – Pride of Justice for PS3 debuted in the top slot on the Media Create charts, knocking Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life into second place after a three-week reign at the top.

The PSP-exclusive Final Fantasy Type-0, released in late 2011, exists only in Japanese form, and no plans for a Western release have ever been disclosed. However, new Square Enix West CEO Phil Rogers mentioned responded to one of the many requests for a localized version of the game (courtesy mainly of these folks) in the comments of a blog post, promising that he’s looking into it.
