IF you’re one of those people who are still investing in PS3 digital downloads you won’t be able to play on the PS4 (like all of us), then you will be happy to know that the PS2 versions of Grand Theft Auto portable entries Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories will be available for digital purchase next week in North America and Europe for $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99. Sony has updated the European end of the PS Store with Darkstalkers Resurrection, Mountain Crime: Requital, Atelier Ayesha and plenty more. There’s also demos on-hand for Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, Mountain Crime: Requital, Darkstalkers Resurrection and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. DLC for Dead Space 3, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Sound Shapes, and Sleeping Dogs are also available.

Midnight Club: Street Racing and Midnight Club 2 are listed on the regular upcoming release post on the US PlayStation Blog as PS2 Classics. The pair have not been priced, but other Rockstar classics have been priced at $9.99/€9.99/£7.99. Details will likely arrive with the PlayStation Store update. The first Midnight Club arrived in 2000 and its sequel hit in 2003.

PSN is hosting a Twisted Metal sale. From today and for the rest of the week, you can pick up Twisted Metal PS3 for $29.99, Twisted Metal (PSone Classic) for$4.99, Twisted Metal 2 (PSone Classic) for $4.99, Twisted Metal Black (PS2 Classic) for $7.99, or you can pick up all the above through the Twisted Birthday Bundle for just $39.99. The sale was not noted on the EU PS Blog, so as of press time, it appears to be for North America only. We’ll keep checking.

Pokémon Black & White 2 were the best-selling games in Japan during 2012, Media Create has revealed via it Top-30 of 2012 chart. The Nintendo titles were followed by Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and New Super Mario Bros. 2, respectively. The tracking retail firm also listed the best-selling hardware in the country to-date, and the clear winner was PlayStation 2 with 21,833,215 units sold.
