Tomodachi Collection: New Life sparks 3DS surge on Japanese charts
Tomodachi Collection: New Life was the big seller in Japan the week of Apr 15 -21. It moved 404,858 for 3DS, while Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 debuted in second with 87,661 units sold on PS3. 3DS LL sales were up over the prior period by 28,950 units.

Nintendo financials fall 50% short of target, ¥7 billion profit in 2012
Nintendo has posted full-year profits of ¥7 billion for 2012, which is half of the company’s ¥14 billion projection. Regardless, this is an improvement over last year’s loss of ¥43.2 billion. The projection slump has been attributed to weak global sales of both Wii U and 3DS .

Disney Infinity video shows off Toy Box mode
Disney Infinity has a new video available after the break, showing off Toy Box Mode, which allows players to create their own adventures and worlds using the playsets for the game. The Smurfs 2 tie-in goes multi-platform in July
Ubisoft will publish a game based on the The Smurfs 2, which hits cinemas and consoles in July. The action platformer is coming to PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U and Xbox 360, and another title – a collection of mini-games and interactive stories – is on the way to DS. The core console version feature 30 levels including locations from the upcoming film, nine unique playable Smurf characters and co-op play for up to four players, or five on Wii U. Luigi’s Mansion reigns supreme at retail in Japan
Luigi’s Mansion was still the number one title on the Media Create charts for the week, moving 111,000 units extra. Fate/Extra CCC debuted in second place for PSP, moving 73,000 units. On the hardware side of things, Wii and Wii U were the only offerings to show an increase over the prior week with 1,858 and 22,829 units moved, respectively. All other hardware units saw a decline in sales.

Dragon Quest 10 listed on Amazon France
As ever, don’t get too excited by the often unrealistic expectations of online retailers, but Amazon France has listed Dragon Quest 10 for sale. No release date was given. The family-friendly MMORPG has not been confirmed for release outside Japan, where it is available on both Wii and Wii U.
