Pitchford details how Colonial Marines fits into Aliens canon
Remember how Randy Pitchford promised that Aliens: Colonial Marines would clear up the “inconsistencies” of the films’ canon, particularly Aliens 3? Speaking to Kotaku, the Gearbox boss gave a detailed description of how the game intersects with the movies. You have to be pretty deep in the fandom to appreciate it, but if you do, I suspect you’ll be champing at the bit for Aliens: Colonial Marines to release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in northern autumn, as well as the as-yet undated Wii U launch.

Nintendo patents show charging dock, gun-shell for Wii U controller
A schematic for what appears to be a charging dock for the Wii U’s controller has shown up online, courtesy of Nintendo Life. Found by the site over on NeoGAF, the drawing was uneartherd via a patent application from Nintendo showing a cradle similar to the one used by 3DS. Another patent schematic posted over on AGB shows what appears to be a gun-shell design for the controller. Have a look through the links.

Nintendo has announced slim details of its E3 2012 press conference: 9:00 AM PST, June 5. The platform holder has promised to show off the final form of new console the Wii U, although launch deatils will not be announced at the event. Microsoft and Sony will both hold events on June 4. E3 2012 runs June 5-7 at the Los Angeles Convention Centre.

Nintendo has reports its first ever annual loss at a net loss of ¥43.2 billion (£328.7 million/$531.1 million), a lower than expected figure compared to what was previously predicted thanks to strong 3DS sales. Sales were at ¥647 billion (£4.92 billion/$7.97 billion).
