Nintendo Direct sessions for North America and Europe contained quite a bit of interesting information on the firm’s upcoming Wii U and 3DS titles for summer. During the event, the biggest take away was when Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced that the next three Sonic titles to be released from SEGA will be exclusive to Nintendo systems.

Nintendo will be hosting a Nintendo Direct presentation tomorrow, May 17, to provide updates on upcoming Wii and 3DS titles for summer. The firm will also discuss future Wii U titles for fall and onward in a Nintendo Direct before the start of E3 2013. It will take place in North America at 10am EST and in the UK at 3PM. We’ll tweet anything pertinent as usual, and provide a full report after both presentations finish.

Capcom has announced Super Ghouls’n Ghosts and Ghosts’n Goblins will be released through Wii U Virtual Console this month on May 16 and May 30, respectively. The firm said it also has “more titles in the pipeline” which will be announced at a later date. Mega Man was released on the service today.

Offerings through Nintendo’s North American eShop this week are a bit slim, so we’ll just get right to it. The promised Challenges mode is available for Rayman Legends on Wii U; Mega Man 4 us available through 3DS Virtual Console; SENGOKU has hit Virtual Console on Wii, Crazy Construction is available for 3DS, and Color Commando can be yours on both DSi through DSiWare and on 3DS.

Nintendo has posted full-year profits of Â¥7 billion for 2012, which is half of the company’s Â¥14 billion projection. Regardless, this is an improvement over last year’s loss of Â¥43.2 billion. The projection slump has been attributed to weak global sales of both Wii U and 3DS .
