Namco Bandai hasn’t made any noises about bringing the DS version of Ni No Kuni west, but according to PocketGamer, one representative said a 3DS release of the Level-5 adventure is possible. The unnamed spokesperson said there’s no official plan in place, but the publisher might look into the matter if it garners enough fan demand. Ni No Kuni is quite a different game on DS; it released in Japan in 2010 with the subtitle The Jet-black Mage.

Disney’s Planes is a new trilogy of films set high above Pixar’s Cars universe. Naturally it’s getting the game treatment on every current Nintendo format under the sun.

Ubisoft will publish a game based on the The Smurfs 2, which hits cinemas and consoles in July. The action platformer is coming to PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U and Xbox 360, and another title – a collection of mini-games and interactive stories – is on the way to DS. The core console version feature 30 levels including locations from the upcoming film, nine unique playable Smurf characters and co-op play for up to four players, or five on Wii U. Screenshots for LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey, have been released. The game is slated for release on 3DS this summer and this fall on DS, and Vita. An MMO is also in the works for the series by Traveller’s Tales on PC. A mobile version for the series was released in January.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes screenshots have landed, and Tony Stark never looked so adorable – well, other than when Robert Downey Jr dons the suit. But that is a different matter entirely. The Hulk is in there as well for those who prefer the angry, green man. In LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Nick Fury has taxed Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes to save Earth from Loki and Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds. Players can unlock more than 100 characters with various abilities, participate in combat-like action sequences, and solve puzzles. It’s out this fall on 3DS, DS, PC, PS3, Vita, Wii U, and Xbox 360. US Pokémon fans: bring your DS or 3DS and a copy of Pokémon Black, White, Black 2 or White 2 into GameStop from March 4 in order to receive Meloetta, the latest addition to the RPG’s line up.

Meloetta will be available to Australian and New Zealand gamers two weeks ahead of previously announced retail distribution plans. To grab the special Pokémon, purchase a ticket to see Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice at a select number of Hoyts Cinema on February 23 or 24. Nintendo Australia has announced its getting in on Meloetta madness. Fans who visit select retailers with their DS or 3DS and a copy of and of the Pokémon Black & White games between March 4 and April 19 will be offered the chance to grab the powerful Pokémon. In Australia, EB Games and Target are participating, while New Zealanders will need to visit JB Hi-Fi. A list of participating outlets is available here.

Nintendo revealed total worldwide sales for a select number of titles in its Q3 earnings report this morning. According to the firm’s figures, the best-seller for the period was Pokémon Black and White 2 with 7.63 million units sold. The DS title was followed by New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS for 5.96 million, Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS with 2.73 million sold in Japan-only, New Super Mario Bros. U on Wii U with 2.01 million, and Nintendo Land sold with Wii U moving 2.33 million. The next title on the Pokémon docket is Pokémon X and Pokémon Y for 3DS, slated for release in October.
