According to documents the famous/infamous Edward Snowden showed The Guardian, Microsoft was said to have handed over all sorts of data from Skype, Outlook and SkyDrive to the National Security Agency’s PRISM program for several years now, and last week the paper detailed how all that works. Microsoft’s general counsel Brad Smith today challenged those accusations with a blog post trying to explain how they comply with government requests.

Naming things is really hard, guys — just ask anybody who started playing an MMO a week after everybody else. But, if you can imagine it, naming a high-profile consumer product is even hard than that, and Microsoft had a long list of acronyms they were looking at before they settled on the name “Xbox” way back when.

NBA Live 14 has been announced for next-generation consoles by Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen. The news was revealed as part of his talk during the Stifel Nicolaus 2013 Internet, Media and Communications Conference today. The game is set for release later this year, and may be part of the new Xbox console reveal today, if NBA Live tweets are any indication. NBA Live 13 was set to be the latest game in the series, slated for last fall, but was ultimately cancelled by EA with the promise the franchise would return in 2013. Thanks, Polygon.
