Screenshots for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II have popped up on XBL Marketplace, showing Sonic and Tails doing what they do best.  You can look them over in the gallery below the break. Episode II takes place following the events of Episode I, where Metal Sonic has returned to form an alliance with Dr. Eggman, and Sonic and Tails must team up and race four new Zones in order to put an end to their evil plans. Players will be able to play co-op online or locally. Still no date, but hopefully SEGA will provide a release window not that new shots have been released. It’s out sometime this year at any rate, for XBL, PSN, iOS, and Android. Thanks, Reddit.

Machinima’s gone live with a three minute gameplay video of XBLA arena shooter Nexuiz ahead of its launch in a few weeks as part of House Party. The video focusses on a group of three weapons, known as the super weapon mutators: super shotgun, super nex and super hager. Also something in there about a mutator that turns weapon noises into farts. I’m not even going to go there.

The Illfonic-made, THQ-published shooter launches on February 29.

Square Enix has discounted DLC and games as part of an ongoing sale on Xbox Live Marketplace. Offers include 25 percent off Battlestations: Pacific, Tomb Raider: Underworld and Just Cause 2 on Games on Demand, as well as half-off Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light on XBLA, Anniversary episodes for Tomb Raider: Legend and other bits of DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, including story expansion The Missing Link. Other items on sale include DLC, avatar items and themes.

Konami’s will release the first DLC for NeverDead on February 21. The Expansion Pack Volume 1 will bring, according to GamesRadar, “the enlargement of the Asylum and the new Gameplay Challenges accommodated by the change.” No idea what that means considering we haven’t touched it yet, but whatevs. New challenges include Egg Hunt, Fragile Alliance and Onslaught. Also included in the DLC are two new costumes: a dress for main lead Bryce and a Gaga outfit for Nikki.

Evil Avatar reports Kalypso has released a new Tropico 4 add-on for both PC and Xbox 360. The Quick-Dry Cement pack goes for $4.99 or 400 MS Points, and adds a cement factory building, the constructor character trait, an engineer helmet, a new mission theme, and a handful of new decorations. Joystiq reports Coffee Stain Studios is already at work on Sanctum 2, a sequel to its successful indie combining shooter and tower defence mechanics. The follow-up is expected in 2013, on PC, the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, thanks to a publishing deal with Reverb. If you haven’t checked out the original Sanctum, which sold over 30,000 copies on Steam alone, it’s on sale for $3.39, which when divided by the number of joyful hours it will bring you, is pretty much no money at all.

Bioware has announced a deal with Microsoft which will allow Silver members of Xbox Live to try out the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer demo. According to a post on the Bioware forums, the demo will come with Gold access when you download the demo – but only for a limited time. The demo for Mass Effect 3 launches February 14 on PSN and XBL.

RedLynx’s released a new trailer of Trials Evolution, days after an unfinished build of the game leaked online. The video shows the basic aspects, as well as multiplayer and its creation tool that allows you to make anything you want. Pinball? Boom. Table football? B to the double O M. Even a first-person shooter? Fucking boom in your face.
