Max: Curse of the Brotherhood, GoW: Judgement Maxim Map Pack, more heading to PAX East

Microsoft has revealed more of its PAX East line-up today, and other than the already mentioned Halo 4: Castle Map Pack, the Gears of War: Judgement Maxim Map Pack will also be on the floor. State of Decay, Max: Curse of the Brotherhood, Motocross Madness along with Windows 8 and Windows Phone games will be shown as well, as will Age of Empires 2: HD Edition. A panel titled “Halo 4 Multiplayer: Past, Present, and Future” will be hosted in the main theater by 343 Industries’ Frank O’Connor, Kevin Franklin, Dan Ayoub and David Ellis, as well as Certain Affinity’s Tom Potter. EA Partners founder launches mobile funding initiative

Industry veteran Tom Frisina has poured $40 million into a new publishing initiative called Tilting Point. The company aims to publish the best mobile developers, with the whopping initial investment intended to last just three years; it will provide development funds, marketing and consultancy with industry partners like EEDAR. Frisina has some serious chops, having founded EA Partners and served as chairman of thatgamecompany, so this massive bet on mobile is worth thinking about; he’s also brought former EA and Zynga staff on board, as well as some savvy investors. More deals are in the works, but Tilting Point has already signed Signal Mobile, Housemarque, and 1337 Game Design & Senri.

A World of Keflings hits Windows 8, headed to Wii U

City-builder A World of Keflings has made the jump from Xbox Live to Windows 8, taking the game to PC and mobile for $7. Destructoid reports the new version has touch controls and a picture-in-picture mode. A Wii U port is also on the way, and is due sometime this year.

Galactic Reign hits Windows Phone, PC

Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City developer Slant Six has released a new game – a science fiction strategy effort called Galactic Reign. The Windows 8, RT and Windows Phone app has players colonising planets, designing ships, building fleets and battling in space in both single-player and head-to-head modes. Combat is turn-based and plays out in cinematic sequences rendered on Microsoft’s cloud servers. You can try the game for free with just one species or pick up the full thing for $5, both from the Windows store.

Skulls of the Shogun releasing worldwide this month

Skulls of the Shogun will be released worldwide on Xbox 360, Windows 8 PC, Microsoft Surface, and Windows Phone at the end of the month. 17-BIT said the title will run you 1200 MS Points, $14.99 in the Microsoft Store, and $6.99 for the mobile version. Releasing on January 30, the game will be localized in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.
