Xbox Fitness and Kinect One domains registered by Microsoft
Microsoft has registered domain names for the new Kinect hardware, which will come bundled with the console, called Kinect One as well as what is likely to be a new Kinect-based fitness game for the new console, called Xbox Fitness.

Killer Instinct trademark dispute settled
Fox and Microsoft have signed a coexistence agreement regarding their rival claims to the Killer Instinct trademark. Under the terms of the agreement, as uploaded by NeoGAF users, Fox promises not to raise objections to Microsoft’s trademarking of or use of the phrase. Presumably this means the TV show that started the drama won’t be renewed any time soon – but oh, harro, what’s this jaw-dropping Kinect title in the works at Rare?

Angry Birds Trilogy has sold over one million units worldwide
Activision and Rovio have announced that the Angry Birds Trilogy has sold over one million units worldwide. The firms jointly released the Anger Management DLC recently, which features 130 extra puzzles from content such as Wreck the Halls and Birdday Party. The trilogy was released in September 2012 for 3DS, PS3 with Move support, and Xbox 360 with Kinect integration. It will release for Wii and Wii U sometime this year.

Gears of War Kinect RTS images surface – rumour
A se of screens purported to represent a Gears of War RTS have surfaced on VGLeaks. The early alpha screens apparently show a game in which you could control troop movements by drawing lines with your fingers. There’s absolutely no proof, but a Gears of War title called Exile was shelved sometimes before April 2012, and is believed to have involved Kinect in some way.

Ryse still in development says Crytek, could miss 2013
Ryse development is “Really shaping up well”, according to Crytek. The game was first revealed at E3 2011 and billed as a big core title for Kinect. It may miss 2013, which suggests that it could be going next-gen.

Microsoft Studios Soho Productions hires Channel 5′s Kate Barnes as new executive producer
Microsoft has hired Kate Barnes as executive producer of Microsoft Studios’ Soho Productions and will be in charge of the firm’s EMEA “2-way TV experiences.” Barnes was formerly Channel 5′s digital boss. “It’s an amazing time to be joining not only Soho Productions but also Xbox as we look to evolve the content experience to meet the changing ways that audiences are consuming entertainment,” said Barnes. “Soho Productions are at the forefront of this and have already demonstrated their innovation and commitment in this space with Kinect Sesame Street TV last year.” Thanks MCV.

Xbox 360 global sales reach 76 million
76 million Xbox 360 consoles have been sold around the world – three times the number of original Xbox, Microsoft executives said at the at the D: Dive into Media conference this week. Kinect sales have reached 24 million, or roughly one-third of the Xbox 360′s total. Xbox Live now boasts 46 million members, a 15% increase on last year, and has clocked up 18 billion hours of entertainment usage. During 2012, Xbox Live Gold members averaged 87 hours per month using the service.

Nottingham Trent University building Kinect-powered prototype to help assess stroke recovery
Nottingham Trent University has been awarded a grant to build a prototype system with Kinect, which will provide real-time feedback on stroke victims’ facial movements during rehabilitation. The team behind the device will spend 18 months developing the prototype with the £347,000 grant money. The system will track various movements during the recommend 45 minute therapy session for facial paralysis, with feedback appearing on-screen with the patient’s avatar. Information obtained using the tech will then be used to help with the patient’s rehabilitation. More on Eurogamer.
