Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 retained its chart-topping position in this week’s report on Xbox Live activity. Until Madden NFL 2013 fires up we can probably expect the charts to remain fairly static; you’ll notice this one bears a marked resemblance to last week’s. And the week before. And the week before that. The Arcade chart has more to offer, though; the long-awaited Dust: An Elysian Tail is in at second place behind the perennial Minecraft.

Gabe Newell recently expressed his concern over Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system, referring to it as “kind of a catastrophe.” In a recent GI.Biz article, other PC developers have shared similar concern, including DayZ developer Dean “Rocket” Hall.

Microsoft has updated its Xbox Live content schedule, and the releases kick off today with a sale on Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Da Vinci Disappearance and Kinectimals, while Raving Rabbids Alive and Kicking and Prototype 2 both hit Games on Demand. Tomorrow, Wreckateer releases, and we also have dates for Nike+ Kinect Training, Kinect Sesame Street TV and Kinect Nat Geo TV.

Capcom has announced patch 1.02 for Street Fighter x Tekken has been released on Steam and Games for Windows Live. The patch addresses the rollback and sound quality issues affecting online play, and also introduces the gem selector menu for quicker menu surfing. The next patch will go right into update 1.05, which should also address the freeze issue that occurs when the knife from Rolento’s Stinger hits a normal projectile. No exact date is set, but the team has already begun work on implementing the update into the PC version.

Modern Warfare 3 once again topped the XBL chart for the week of June 4 and Minecraft remained at number two. The top arcade title played was once again Minecraft, the most played indie title was, again, CastleMiner Z followed by CastleMiner and like last week, GTA IV topped the GFWL list, followed by Age of Empires Online and Arkham City. Also once again, the most played game in the Arcade division was Minecraft, followed by Trials Evolution and The Walking Dead. The most played indie title was CastleMiner Z followed by CastleMiner and GTA IV topped the GFWL list, followed by Age of Empires Online and Arkham City. If we didn’t know any better, we’d say it was the same list. Hit up the Major for the rest.

Rockstar’s confirmed in a tweet it won’t add Games for Windows Live support into Max Payne 3 on PC.
