It’s up here, for real this time, on the App Store, priced at just $4 or your regional equivilent and promises 3 “Gorgeous Worlds”, 40 costumes across eight characters and 55 levels all up.

A popular refrain we’re been hearing in tech and games circles is that consoles are sunsetting and mobile devices will be taking over the gaming scene in a few years. While not directly taking issue with that assertion, Qualcomm’s Mike Yuen did say mobile devices will never have the full power of a current-gen dedicated console.

Thanks in no small part to mobile phenomenon Puzzles & Dragons, GungHo has a pretty absurd operating profit margin — 57 percent or so this past quarter. But with revenue and profits down 5 percent and 12 percent, respectively, quarter over quarter, the companies price fell sharply this week.

The sequel to Side Meier’s Ace Patrol, dubbed Pacific Skies, was announced last week with no release date, and today it has a two: November 5 on PC and November 7 on iOS. Meaning we have some counterprogramming next week for folks who won’t be getting the new Call of Duty. The World War I flight sim will be available for $5 on PC.

Call of Duty: Strike Team is now available for Android on Google Play for $6.99. The title was released for iOS last month and can be played alternately in first-person or top-down mode. It contains a single-player campaign and survival mode.

From today Android users can play Plants vs. Zombies 2, PopCap’s free-to-play tower defense game, around two months after it first released on iOS. PopCap had admitted that it has struggled in the past with bringing its games to other platforms, but they believe they’re now getting the hang of it.

Someone accidentally pushed a button and BIT.TRIP.RUN!, the universal iOS port of Bit Trip Runner 2: Future Legend of the Rhythm Alien was accidentally released on the New Zealand App Store for a little while, before getting pulled. The release, which was priced at $5.29 in NZ, requires iOS 6.0 and is optimised for iPhone 5 equivalent devices. Check the trailer below.
