Bohemia Interactive has released a new update for the Arma 3 Alpha, and in version 0.58, new dedicated combat and stealth radio protocols have been added along with tweaks to lighting and audio. Also, multiplayer dedicated server administrators now have access to a “separated executable” to host such servers more conveniently. Have a look at the entire changelog here, and to automatically update to the new version, just log into Steam.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist has a new developer diary available discussing the co-op in the game. According to the video, there are four different mission type, and the two being discussed today are The Isaac Briggs missions and The Grim. Check out below. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community members will now be able to regulate themselves due to a new governing system put in place by Valve. Called Overwatch, members of the elite group will be chosen to watch out for cheaters, griefers, and other ne’er do wells via an “Overwatch button” on their game menu. When it activated, the Overwatch member will look over eight rounds of gameplay to determine whether the offender noted by other members of the session was indeed in the wrong. A ban will then be set, and the duration of said banning will be determined by how offensive said actions were. Should not enough evidence be found by the investigators, the complaint will be tossed out. The system is currently in beta, and you can look over more on it through the FAQ here.

Poker Night 2, along with Brock Fucking Samson, is now available for iOS. Telltale’s poker simulator will run you $4.99 on the App Store, and also includes Sam and Max, Claptrap, GLaDOS, and my personal hero, Ash Williams. Head over to the App Store and pick it up. The game’s also available through the Xbox Live Marketplace, Steam, and PSN.

Nick Channon, FIFA 14 producer, has told VG247′s Sam Clay that it’s rather nice for the series to have become part of the “fabric of football.” He also said EA is proud of the fact it can connect the game’s users to the real sport. Listen to your man speak about it himself below. FIFA 14 is out September 27 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and will be released on PS4 and Xbox One as well. Sony has posted an interview with Gran Turismo 6 maestro Kazunori Yamauchi and SCEE CEO Jim Ryan, discussing the racer along with the series’ 15 year history and how it kept the development team in tact for the duration.

During the Stifel 2013 Technology Conference on Tuesday, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said the firm plans to support current generation consoles until 2017. Gamespot reports the quote from the conference, which we’ve reported on quite a bit. During it Jorgensen talked about the possibility of a Star Wars: Battlefront game, developments on Wii U and how more games and information on all its titles will be revealed at E3. GameStop has reported its quarterly results for the period ending May 4, with total revenues down 6.8% year-over-year to $1.87 billion, noting declines in both hardware sales and new software. Profits came in at $54.6 million, down 25% year-over-year.

Skyward Collapse, the turn-based 4X god-sim from Arcen Games, is out today on Mac and PC, and the developer sent over some screenshots and a new trailer for it. The game can be picked up through the official website, Steam, and other distributors. Brenna has been playing the preview build, and as soon as she returns from her much needed vacation, she’ll have some detailed impressions. Earlier today she told me it’s “sort of like playing chess against yourself, only you’re always a total bastard”. Awesome.

SEGA has released another teaser image for Sonic: Lost World. This one shows silhouettes of characters we can probably expect to be in the game. The last teaser image was revealed while the last Nintendo Direct was going on, which was when the Wii U exclusive was announced. Check out the teaser image in full below. More on the game is expected to be revealed on May 29.

Nintendo has announced its E3-centric Nintendo Direct presentation will air on June 11. It will air at 7am PDT/10am EDT and can be watched here. A Pokemon X & Y round table will also be held on the same day.

Epic Mickey 2 will be released on Vita next month, with new features making use of the handheld’s touch capabilities. It will also contain ad hoc network functionality, the ability to control paint, thinner and Oswald’s electric beam, and make use of the “orientation-based controls” for the camera and while driving.
