Crytek and Trion have announced Warface has entered closed beta in North America. Thefree-to-play FPS shooter contains various co-op, and versus modes, and the beta will run until the game releases in the spring. You can sign up for it here.

Trion has announced Defiance’s first beta event will be PC-only, and kick off on January 18 and run through January 20. Titled “Advanced Beta Mission 1″, players will be thrust into the futuristic San Francisco Bay region and play as the genetically enhanced ark hunter which are described as “part treasure hunter, part mercenary.” Players will have access to the open-world shooter’s tutorial, the Waterfront competitive multiplayer map, Mt. Tam, and the open-world boss battled the Shadow War and Arkfall. Sign up for it here. Defiance is slated for an April 15 release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 alongside the SyFy series of the same name. Warface co-publisher Trion Worlds has sent approximately three metric shit tons of screenshots and concept art for the free-to-play Crytek shooter, but believe me, I’m not complaining. CryEngine 3 is such ana amazing bit of tech, and Crytek has thrown its heart into this multiplayer effort, with the result that you’d never guess you were looking at a game you can play entirely for free.
