Well, that’s it – if you didn’t get a pass for PAX Australia you’re plum out of luck, as they’re now all gone. The first antipodean PAX takes place from July 19 through 21 at the Melbourne Showgrounds; Ron Gilbert is set to keynote.

The Secret of Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert is to appear at PAX Australia. Kotaku reports Gilbert has signed up to present one of Pax’s famous “storytime” keynotes, and will be the opening speaker. The legendary designer has extensive credits at LucasArts and Hothead prior to his most recent work on The Cave for Double Fine. PAX Australia is set for July 19 to 21 at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

PAX Australia has expanded its capacity in response to popular demand, securing a new exhibition space and issuing more tickets. Although individual day passes were still available, Saturday was completely sold out, making it difficult for those hoping to attend the whole show to grab tickets. The new Saturday passes are already running low so if you’re thinking of attending the Melbourne event this July get on board immediately.

Keen on checking out PAX Australia when Penny Arcade’s famous expo heads down under next year? Organisers have set up a Facebook and Twitter page to help hopeful attendees track updates. Details like date, venue and even host city are still to be announced – hell, PAX Australia was announced just a few weeks ago – but if tickets sell as quickly as those for the US events, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on these sites.

PAX is coming to Australia next year, Penny Arcade’s Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins confirmed today. It was also announced PAX Prime would last for four days instead of three next year.
