PAX East opens registration a year early

paxeasta

PAX East takes place in Boston next year: early registration has already started.

You can book yourself in now, providing you are free between March 26-28, 2010.

The schedule of events and list of exhibitors is empty at the moment. Doubt it’ll stay that way for long.

Thanks, Blue.

East Coast PAX gets date and venue

Following news that 2010′s PAX EC will be held in Boston, the organisers have confirmed that the event will take place in March and will be held at the city’s John B Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center.

There’s more on BigDownload, including a shrug-off about competition with San Francisco’s GDC and what looks to be a cautious approach to growth.

East Coast PAX will be based in Boston

East Coast PAX – it was announced at the beginning of August, kids – has been firmed up today, and is now confirmed to be taking place in Boston in 2010.

From 1UP:

The official opening of Penny Arcade Expo 2008 is still a few hours away, but we were able to sit down with Penny Arcade creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik to discuss various and sundry PA-related things. Notably, they dropped the news that their next big project — a second yearly Penny Arcade Expo set on the East Coast — is slated to debut in Boston in 2010. The new PAX, which will complement rather than replace the existing Seattle event, is still in the planning stages, but the duo has been determined to return to the city since delivering a presentation at MIT a few years ago.

East coast PAX announced for 2010

pax2008.jpg

This, ESA, is how you do a games show. Penny Arcade’s announced an East Coast version of PAX, scheduled to happen for the first time in 2010.

Said Tycho:

People sometimes call PAX “The New E3,” but that never sat right. It’s better to say that PAX is everything E3 isn’t. We made it the opposite on purpose – public instead of private, fun instead of work. It’s about people who make and play games, instead of the games themselves. This is all pretty obvious in retrospect, but for some reason no-one else had done it. It deserves to be on the East Coast. Frankly, it should be global. I’m working on it.

More through there.
