Ron Gilbert teases Double Fine project with Time Traveler concept art
Ron Gilbert has released another piece of concept art for his project with Double Fine. Earlier this week, he released concept art for the Monk and the Hillbilly, today, it’s the Time Traveler. A puzzle sent out last week as an invite showed some concept art as well. Gilbert hasn’t said much regarding his adventure game, other than it’s an idea he’s had for ages. More information on the game is expected at E3 next month.

Divinity devs tease E3 reveal with unrevealing video
Divinity developers Larian Studios will show off its new, secret title at E3 this year, and to get you salivating for it, the studio has released a teaser video. It mainly shows the developers discussing the game with one another in meetings and brainstorming sessions, but you can’t hear what they are saying. At one point, you can see character art on the wall which look a bit fantasy-ish. It’s hard to tell really. Maybe it’s a new Divinity title. Maybe not. We’ll all find out next month.

Former Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux will be part of Spike TV’s E3 commentary team this year, and has warned that platform holders will have to push to impress this year.

Respawn not showing anything at E3
Respawn will have a staffers on the ground at E3, but the studio won’t be showing its new game at the conference. “Some of us will be present at E3, but we won’t be showing anything or doing any press related to the game,” Respawn community manager Abbie Heppe told Joystiq. Respawn announced its formation in April of 2010 with funding on its new project being handled by EA Partners. The game has yet to be revealed.

Report – No playable Capcom demos for Nintendo platforms at E3
Capcom won’t bring playable demos to some of its titles for Nintendo platforms to E3, the company has apparently confirmed to Nintendo World Report. The only games confirmed for Nintendo platforms to date are Monster Hunter 4 and Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney for 3DS. The company has also yet to announce any of its plans for Wii U.

David Perry to receive Development Legend award
Industry veteran David Perry will be handed the Development Legend award during the Develop Industry Excellence Awards on July 11. He is to receive the award for the contributions he’s made to the games industry over the last three decades. The Gaikai boss has helped create over 100 titles across 29 platforms, and formed Shiny Entertainment which brought the world Earthworm Jim. “I’m incredibly flattered by this award,” said Perry in response to Develop. “I’m from Great Britain and have incredible respect for the people that have been recognized in previous years. My mother is going to be blown away; she thought she was buying me that first Sinclair ZX81 to do homework on.” [image]

THQ still “discussing options” for gamescom, won’t have a booth
THQ won’t have a booth at gamescom this year, a representative for the firm told GI International, however, it’s still “discussing options,” meaning it might have a presence – only slight. The firm confirmed earlier in the month it wouldn’t have a presence on the showroom floor at E3 either, but it will be on hand to speak with the press regarding upcoming titles.

Rumor – IE coming to 360 with Kinect controls
A source close to The Verge has told the site Microsoft is bringing Internet Explorer to Xbox 360 with Kinect capabilities. The firm is supposedly testing IE 9 on the console now, and upon release it will have Bing voice search integrated for media-only results, while the browser end will allow users to surf the net while sitting in their living areas. Kinect support won’t be mandatory, according to the source, but since Kinect has been heavily integrated into it, users may wish to at least try it out. If true, and not far-fetched in the slightest, look for Microsoft to reveal the tech at E3.

Majesco to show new Zumba Fitness, Kinect-exclusive NBA Baller Beats at E3
Majesco will be bringing its Kinect exclusive NBA Baller Beats, and its next iteration of its 6 million worldwide-seller, Zumba Fitness, to E3 this year. The former is a basketball game where players use a real basketball as they train alongside unlockable NBA franchises. In the background plays a “diverse soundtrack,” with 100 unlockable posters and training card as well as difficulty levels which will guide you in your quest to become “the ultimat e-baller.” More information on both titles will be releases in June.

Virgin hosting 100 Day Game Project, winner showcased at EG Expo
Virgin Media’s announced the start of the 100 Day Game Project, a competition where upcoming development talent must put together a brand new mobile game in the space of 100 days. Entries will be judged by reps from Eurogamer, Outplay Entertainment, Digital Goldfish and Ubisoft Reflections, with the winner being showcased in September at Eurogamer Expo.

Sony opens E3 2012 livestream site
Sony has opened a dedicated mini-site for its E3 2012 livestreams, which will include the main press conference along with other content from the show floor later in the week. The presser kicks off at 6:00PM PT/9:00PM ET on June 4, which is 2:00AM BST/11:00AM AEST on June 5. If Sony follows the pattern of previous years, highlights from the show will also be broadcast inside PlayStation Home.

PAX Prime passes completely sold out
Just over a week after sales first opened, all passes to PAX Prime have been sold. The show is sold out to capacity, meaning no extra tickets will come on sale at a later date. Penny Arcade has issued a warning to those picking up a badge through scalpers, following issues with counterfeit tickets in the past. PAX runs from August 31 to September 2 in Seattle.

Spike TV and XBL to broadcast Microsoft’s E3 briefing on June 4
Spike TV is partnering with Microsoft for live and commercial-free coverage of the Xbox Media Briefing at E3. The Xbox: Entertainment Evolved special will air on Monday, June 4 at 12.30pm EDT/9.30am PDT/5.30pm UK and “will take viewers on a 90-minute journey through the future of the Xbox 360 platform with world premieres of blockbuster games and entertainment experiences set for release in 2012 and beyond.” The telecast is part of Spike TV’s E3 All Access Live program which was announced Tuesday, and features coverage from the event. The Microsoft E3 briefing will also be broadcast on Xbox Live if you would rather go that route.
