I won the Games Media Legend award at the Games Media Awards in London last night, as well as Specialist Writer (Web). VG247 won the Games Blog award. By the end of it, I got up on stage and genuinely had no words. I’m better at writing than speaking (clearly), so here’s what I would have said given the benefit of hindsight and not having 400 people cheering at me.

[Update] We are live, folks.

The Games Media Awards takes place tonight in London’s Camden, and VG247′s up for three of them. God willing, we may actually win something this time.

We’re in the running for Best Games Website, Specialist Writer (Web) and Games Blog.

The ceremony starts at 8.00pm BST tonight, and we’ll be liveblogging it after the break.

VG247′s been put up the three Games Media Awards this year, as reported by MCV.

We’re in the running for Best Games Website, Specialist Writer (Web) and Games Blog.

Apparently “Future Publishing, Eurogamer, VG247, Imagine and Videogamer” got the most nominations this year.

Sincere thanks to all that voted for us. Maybe we’ll actually fucking win one this time.
