Epic has opened a new online storefront, shilling its wares directly to the public. Gears of War, Bulletstorm, Jazz Jackrabbit, Infinity Blade and the upcoming Fortnite are all represented, and as well as your favourite properties, there’s also Unreal Engine and general Epic studio-branded gear. Available merchandise includes t-shirts and hoodies (none in women’s fits, unfortunately), artwork and pre-orders for an upcoming coffee mug. Epic isn’t the first to open a storefront of this kind; Ubisoft and BioWare both front similar initiatives, for example.

NCsoft’s Cat Channon and seven other games trade bods cycled from gamescom to Brighton last month, covering over 500km. You can watch a PlayStation Access documentary of it below. The gruelling charity effort raised over £10,000 for GamesAid, leaving a broken, happy team on Brighton beach after three days in the saddle. You can donate here, if you haven’t already.

NCSoft PR head Cat Channon, Mark Allen (Kalypso), David Priestman (Future), James Beaven (Indigo Pearl), Nick Haywood (Kuoda), Graeme Struthers (GetGamesGo), Nathan Ditum (Future) and Sarah Ditum (freelance) are cycling back to the UK from gamescom in an effort to raise money for the GamesAid charity. They’re going to be back in Britain tomorrow after putting in 100 miles a day since the end of gamescom last week. Hit the link and give them some money.

Critical Path, a documentary focused on speaking to established games designers, has been announced and trailered. It’s a “transmedia project exploring the art, philosophy, politics and psychology of video games, starting with an online video archive of interviews with video game’s most influential designers and visionaries.” The trailer shows Sid Meier and friends waxcing lyrical on the medium. Critical Path’s based on two years of filming. There’s no date on its release as yet.

Razer’s announced a refresh of the Naga MMO mouse. The 2012 version will come with a redesigned anti-slip, fingerprint-fighting finish, three interchangeable side panels and a re-optimised button placement. It’s out now in the US and EU, with the rest of the world to follow in Q2.

Games tournament specialists Major League Gaming has raised $13 million for its business, according to VentureBeat. The news is yet to be formally announced, but a SEC filing shows it has raised $11.3 million so far. More at the link.

Gearbox has posted a survey asking participants for their input on Duke Nukem Forever. According to the introduction, “this is your chance,” to tell the developer how you feel about the game. You may participate in the survey whether you have or have not played it. Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford said during a community panel at PAX Prime the firm would start talking about a new Duke game “soon,” but for now the focus is on releasing DLC for Duke Nukem Forever. Virgin Gaming’s announced that it’s to give away €3 million in cash and prizes in 2012 from the introduction of a brand new thing called called Series Tournaments.
