According to anonymous sources speaking to AllThingsD, a new iPad reveal is just weeks away. The site’s sources said Apple will hold one of its famous media events on October 22, showing off the fifth generation iPad; the new models are believed to be slimmer and lighter with a better camera, and to utilise Apple’s 64-bit A7 chip. An iPad Mini with the same chip and a retina display will also be revealed, apparently, along with a new Mac Pro model.

Newegg has listed the 3DS exclusive Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for the Wii U, for an apparent release at the end of the month. Of course, retailer errors are pretty common, what with Amazon France having advertised an as of yet non-existant Wii U port of Kid Icarus Uprising since February. Additionally, Newegg’s supposed box art seems to come from DeviantArt user Jonaho23. Still, perhaps Newegg’s let the cat out of the bag.

Amazon’s set top box is slated for release around the holidays, according to a Wall Street Journal report. Rumors around the box have been swirling for a while and last we heard the system could be using a Qualcomm MPQ chip which is part of the Snapdragon processor line used in smart TVs and set-top boxes already in homes around the world. The box is said to make use of the firm’s Amazon Prime video streaming service, and will also run apps, play some Android games and stream music. The WSJ report states Amazon is currently in talks with various app developers and cable providers. Thanks, D’toid.

Injustice: Gods Among Us GotY Edition coming to PS4, Xbox One according to Brazilian classification authority
Injustice: Gods Among Us may be heading to PS4 and Xbox One if a listing from the Brazilian classification authority is anything to go by. A listing for a Game of the Year Edition popped up on the authority’s ratings page for PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360 as well. Earlier today, a rating for a Vita version of the game showed up on Germany’s USK rating board. Warner has yet to comment on either. Thanks, Eurogamer.

Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation may be released on platforms other than Vita if a logo on a Chinese forum is to be believed. According to the screencap, the game’s logo calls it “Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD – as noted on the supposed list of upcoming digital releases from Ubisoft. This suggests a PC, PSN and Xbox Live launch. Also noted is something called Assassin’s Creed: Pirates, which Eurogamer suggests is a mobile game tie-in for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
