Hollywood actor to have a role in MGS 5 – rumour
An actor is going to appear in Metal Gear Solid 5 as “the one you thought I would be from the start”, apparently. If this were any other game, I’d probably bury this story in so much salt just looking at it would close your arteries.

THQ auction results to be revealed on Monday – rumour
Following this weekend’s report that bidding for remaining THQ properties has closed, Joystiq cites an anonymous source for word that results may be revealed as early as Monday afternoon, US time. The claim comes in contradiction to documents obtained by Polygon, which suggest the offers won’t be presented in court until May, let alone finalised – but perhaps we’ll just hear who bid how much and for what. Darksiders, Homeworld, MX vs ATV, Red Faction and two bundles of licensed and in-house properties were offered in this most recent round of auctioneering.

Xbox Original hopes to bring back Heroes – rumour
Cancelled superhero TV series Heroes may yet get a second lease on life. TVLines cites anonymous sources for word that MSN is in preliminary talks with NBC to develop a new version of the show for Xbox Originals, with all new stories and characters but cameos from the original cast. Microsoft certainly seems to be making a major push to turn the Xbox 360 – and likely its successor – into something like a cable box.

No Ni Kuni may come to the west on 3DS – rumour
Namco Bandai hasn’t made any noises about bringing the DS version of Ni No Kuni west, but according to PocketGamer, one representative said a 3DS release of the Level-5 adventure is possible. The unnamed spokesperson said there’s no official plan in place, but the publisher might look into the matter if it garners enough fan demand. Ni No Kuni is quite a different game on DS; it released in Japan in 2010 with the subtitle The Jet-black Mage.

FIFA 14 reveal happening this week – rumour
A report out of Spain claims EA Sports will show FIFA 14 to the press this week at an event in Madrid, with an embargo on details lifting on April 17. Assuming FIFA 14 releases sometime around September, as previous entires have, the timing seems plausible, so expect new details soon. All we’ve heard about the new entry to date is that it is “huge”, and will emphasise social features alongside traditional single-player modes; we’re not even sure if it’ll be current or next-gen.
Thanks, Lengendaryboss.

A PC spin-off is currently in beta.

Next-Xbox controller isn’t much different than the current version – report
A report over on Kotaku states that the controller for the next Xbox console won’t differ greatly from the current offering. Everything you see now on the Xbox 360 controller is still there, and the shape has stayed the same as well, only it will be a bit smaller. The report also states that each developer kit has controllers which are decorated with stripes, so that if a shot of it leaked, was lost, or stolen, Microsoft would be able to tell which developer the controller was in use by. Tricky.
