Zynga has fended off Scrabble manufacturer Mattel over the name ‘Scramble With Friends.’ The name of the tile-based word app was said to veer too close to Mattel’s board game, but a high court judge has ruled in favour of the social game company, although it must now change the game’s logo.

Solstice Arena is a free-to-play MOBA also available for iDevice, developed by A Bit Lucky, which Zynga acquired last year. Alan Patmore, Zynga’s former general manager has admitted to stealing Zynga’s trade secrets when he joined the social giant’s rival Kixeye in 2012. The vice president reached a settlement with Zynga, who had sued him for data theft. Kixeye, the company Patmore went to work for entered the case on Patmore’s side and alledged that the suit was actually an elaborate way of Zynga obtaining access to their corporate secrets.

Three more Zynga executives have left the company: John Osvald and Nathan Etter, vice presidents in the Facebook games division, and Jesse Janosov, VP of casino gaming. Zynga announced last week a Q2 revenue decline of 31%, and that it would continue to evaluate its real money gaming products in the UK, but had decided “not to pursue a license” for real money gaming in the US. Thus the likely reason Janosov left the company. GI International reports that Etter is now working at Disney in its interactive division. Both he and Osvald had been with Zynga since 2009.
