Left 4 Dead 2 cast now available in Resident Evil 6
The Left 4 Dead 2 cast is now available for free to PC owners of Resident Evil 6. The characters are playable in the Mercenaries: No Mercy mode of the title, and it comes complete with the Midnight Riders tracks. Those who play L4D2 can now also shoot up the RE6 enemies Lepotitsa and Ogroman, which are new skins for existing enemies in the game. Hit up either game to get your mash-up.

Half-Life on Evil Dead director’s radar
Evil Dead remake director Fede Alvarez is keen to tckle the adventures of Gordon Freeman, according to a Yahoo Movies report. “I really want to make a Half-Life movie at some point – but I’d heard it was impossible because Spielberg wanted to make it. That’s definitely one that I’ve always dreamed of making into a movie though,” the Panic Attack creator said. It looks like JJ Abrams has pipped him at the post, though.

DOTA 2 update brings new hero, Bristleback
DOTA 2 is receiving its first new hero in six weeks. This guy is Rigwarl the Bristleback, who is part man, part pig and part hedgehog. He can spew snot to slow his opponents down, and he can throw quills from his back. And every time he takes 250 damage on his backside, that also triggers his quill firing.

Valve severs ties with Xi3 Piston, now has “no involvement”
Valve was widely thought to have backed the Xi3 Piston micro PC – often dubbed “Steam Box”. However, Valve’s Doug Lombardi has made clear that the Seattle studio no longer has any involvement in Xi3′s dealings.

Left 4 Dead 2 Workshop adds Brütal Legend axe, Resident Evil 6 enemy teased
Thanks to a lovely teaser image linking to a Steam page by Capcom Unity this morning, I am now aware of two things: Valve is working on tutorials and examples of how to create content for the Left for Dead 2 Workshop using Bloodshots from Resident Evil 6; and The Brütal Legends Collection for Left for Dead 2 is available in the Workshop. So, instead of dispatching zombies with a projectile weapon, you can now use Eddie’s axe instead. Rock on. Hit up the links for more.

Natural Selection 2 scam sees over a thousand game keys deactivated
Natural Selection 2 was at the heart of a $30,000 credit card scam that saw over a thousand bogus keys sold via third-party distributors. Valve has now blocked all of the keys in question, locking out anyone who bought them.
