Dark fantasy strategy Elemental: Fallen Enchantress has arrived on Steam; grab it now for $40. It’s the sequel to Elemental: War of Magic, which was heavily criticised at launch and subsequently underwent serious overhaul via patches. Stardock is actually giving the follow up away for free to those who bought the first game while it was a hot mess, and hopes doing it right this time around will mollify those angered by the first title.

Elemental: Fallen Enchantress will release later this month, according to Stardock.The game contains various unique factions, unlockable unit designs, many quests and randomly generated worlds and multiple paths. The fantasy strategy game is about to go gold and will release on October 23.

Fallen Enchantress will be the recipient of an update and will arrive on Steam sometime next week, according to an update posted on the official website. According to Stardock CEO Brad Wardell, the plans is to releases Beta 4A and collect “as much feedback” as possible before releasing Beta 5 next month. Wardell stressed that should players have any requests, now is the time to make their wishes known, as once Beta 5 rolls out, the game will be put in “feature lock down.” Elemental: Fallen Enchantress has been available in beta form for all pre-orders of full version. Stardock is making a sequel to Elemental: War of Magic because the first one wasn’t up to snuff and garnered harsh criticism – the exact opposite of the usual reason to make a sequel.

Stardock has announced pre-orders are now being accepted for Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. The PC-exclusive Fallen Enchantress is a stand-alone expansion and followup to Elemental: War of Magic, which will be free to those who purchased War of Magic early on, or at a discounted rate. Those players will also be able to upgrade to the retail box if desired. Beta invites will also be handed out to early customers, and once given out, further stages of the beta will be opened up to other players “over the coming weeks.” You can pre-order the game through here, and also find out if you are eligible to receive the game expansion for free or at a discount.

Gas Powered Games’ Demigod debuted in 2009 to a very mixed response. Most people said the game was pretty great when it wasn’t malfunctioning or the download service wasn’t glitching out.
Today it was announced that the game will be available on Steam as well. So now you can compete to be amongst the pantheon of gods without having to search through your program files to find your install of Impulse. It will also be on sale through January 2nd for just $6.69 or $19.99 for a 4-pack.
