Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13′s pink-haired hero has been spotted wearing a Miqo’te costume straight out of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn. An image of the garb has surfaced, suggesting the outfit will come as DLC after the game launches.

Square Enix has released a developer video for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn which discusses the MMO’s Full Active Time Events, also known as F.A.T.E. These are events in the game which can happen randomly while the player is minding his or her own business running about the game world. The events can come in the form of a huge monster spawn, or a group of such appearing in non-instanced areas. When it occurs, an alert will pop up on the game screen so player in the zone can join in. Find out more below. Game’s out on PC and PS3 in August and will release on PS4.

Hirō Isono, and artist and painter responsible for the lovely look of the Secret of Mana series, passed away on May 28 due to heart failure. Born in 1945, Isono graduated from the Aichi University of Education’s fine arts department in 1968, and worked as an illustrator and painter since the 1970s. In 1991, he provided the main visual for Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden, worked on the aforementioned Secret of Mana series and Heroes of Mana in 2007. Director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that Square Enix expects to produce a number of follow-ups to Final Fantasy 15, and hinted that we may see the publisher’s plans for episodic releases come into play sooner than anticipated.
