Watch Max Payne shoot a rather sexy pistol in the video and screenshots below the break. Both feature the 1911 semi-automatic making its return in Max Payne 3. The pistol features “machine-gun like firing rates,” plus the ability to dual-wield thanks to being light-weight despite its large frame. Considering the pistol is a .45, it packs enough oomph to put large holes in your enemies torso so expect them to bleed – a lot. If you head on over to the game’s website, you can view 360 renders of the weapon.

Max Payne 3′s Cemetery multiplayer map will be exclusive to GAME and Gamestation, according to the retailer. In order to acquire said map, you will need to pre-order the title in-store or online. Various GAME store will also be hosting midnight launch events for Max, which lands in the UK May 18. Thanks, Eurogamer.

Rockstar has released the TV spot for Max Payne 3 which aired during the Lakers vs Spurs game last night on ESPN. It’s below. The studio has also released a new selection of Action Series digital desktops, backgrounds, and other media shots for the game. We’ve posted the wallpapers below as well. Max Payne 3 is out May 15 on PS3 and Xbox 360 and on PC May 29.

Rockstar has announced a three-part original Max Payne 3 comic series will be released as a graphic novel and in limited print editions. It was created with Rockstar Games in collaboration with Marvel Custom Solutions and written by Rockstar’s Dan Houser and Remedy’s Sam Lake. Cover art was created by Greg Horn with pencils and inks by Fernando Blanco. The series will “delve into” Max’s troubled past through both Max Payne and Max Payne 2, leading up to Max Payne 3. It will also shed some light on his early years. Issue number one After the Fall will be released “in the next few weeks” for free via the Rockstar Newswire, the official Max Payne 3 website and additional digital comic channels.

The latest issue of PSM3 has posted dates for both Grand Theft Auto V and Hitman: Absolution. According to the magazine, the Rockstar title will hit retail on March 9, 2013, while Agent 47′s latest mission lands in December of this year. The dates were posted in the “Readers’ Most Wanted” section, and while not listed in the mag’s rumors portion, we’re still calling it as such until both games are given set release dates by the publishers. Rockstar has announced the availability of Max Payne Mobile, out now for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch via the App Store. Toted as the “full classic Max Payne experience,” Max Payne Mobile has been
optimized for iOS devices, has HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club integration and more. It will run you $2.99.

Rockstar has released the Achievement and Trophy list for Max Payne 3, which includes over 40 challenges spanning across both the single-player and multiplayer. A few screens accompany the list, and it’s all posted below – with a few secret accomplishments omitted by Rockstar so as to surprise you come May 15 on PS3 and Xbox 360 and on PC May 29.

Rockstar’s announced the iOS version of Max Payne Mobile, an optimised version of the first game, will launch this Wednesday. An Android version of the Remedy action title comes out two weeks later on April 26. The game was announced for mobile devices last year alongside the re-announcement of Max Payne 3.

To the shock of almost no-one, Rockstar has confirmed it doesn’t intend to provide a demo for Max Payne 3.
