IF you’re one of those people who are still investing in PS3 digital downloads you won’t be able to play on the PS4 (like all of us), then you will be happy to know that the PS2 versions of Grand Theft Auto portable entries Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories will be available for digital purchase next week in North America and Europe for $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99. Having already smacked down two scams, Take Two has filed a fresh complaint against a site purporting to offer free Grand Theft Auto 5 beta access. Fusible reports the publisher now has four active cases with the World Intellectual Property Organization over scam websites. You’re unlikely to fall for this kind of nonsense, but don’t let your less-hardcore friends and family get sucked in.

Grand Theft Auto would be harmed if Take-Two pushed for more frequent sequels, the publisher’s chief operating officer Karl Slatoff has said.

Steam’s weekend deals have kicked off today, and there are a couple good ones. First, Football Manager 2013 is 50 percent off, and then the entire Max Payne franchise is two-thirds off, bringing Max Payne 3 down to about $13. Both deals last until Monday.

Midnight Club: Street Racing and Midnight Club 2 are listed on the regular upcoming release post on the US PlayStation Blog as PS2 Classics. The pair have not been priced, but other Rockstar classics have been priced at $9.99/€9.99/£7.99. Details will likely arrive with the PlayStation Store update. The first Midnight Club arrived in 2000 and its sequel hit in 2003.

Rockstar has announced it will sponsor the 2013 Red Hook Criterium Championship Series, which kicks off with the Red Hook Criterium at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in New York on Saturday, March 30.

Holy moly, that’s a lot of XP; Rockstar is offering you triple rewards when you log into Red Dead Redemption or Max Payne 3′s multiplayer this weekend. In the wake of news that GTA 5 has been delayed from spring into September, the market freaked out a bit, causing stock in Take-Two to fall 7.96%. The market fluctuates, however, and now stock in the firm is only down by 6.47% – so expect it to change again soon. When NASDAQ opened, stock in the firm was trading at $12.99, and now its down to $12.23. Market Watch also reports that shares in GameStop took a tumble with the news as well, falling by 1.7%.

Rockstar has confirmed a September release date for Grand Theft Auto 5, which is a few months away from the initial spring launch window. One analyst thinks the delay points to a next-gen release.

Filmmaker Frank Darabont has claimed he had to change the title of a new noir series set in Los Angeles after LA Noire publisher Rockstar threatened legal action. However, Take-Two has responded to the allegation, stating there’s no truth to it.
