Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut screens are kind of boring

One man examines a shelf of binders while another looks on. Dialogue reveals they are discussing their exercise habits. Nothing explodes.

Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut has produced a new batch of screenshots showing off the touched-up graphics. I’d happily post them for you, but quite a lot of them show dialogue or just York driving around, so visit Siliconera to check them out while I watch some paint dry over here; it’s very important. Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut is much more interesting than it looks here, and arrives on PlayStation 3 in April.

Rising Star USA to take over for Marvelous USA publishing

Akai Katana

Speaking with MCV, Defries said: “We were given an opportunity to take over the US publishing business of our former parent company Marvelous Entertainment, to rebrand that as Rising Star Games Inc and to build a successful subsidiary.” Defries also said Rising Star has “an existing publisher in the US” with “strong roots into the market,” but didn’t reveal the name of the firm. There’s no word at present on how this will affect Marvelous USA’s publishing deal with Xseed Games, which is owned by Marvelous AQL. Ju-On: The Grudge says you’re a wuss, go write some poetry

thegrudge

Ju-On: The Grudge has a bit of humor included in the horror game by way of two meters that track your bravery and level of fright.

UGO got hands-on time with the Wii title and after failing a mission, this brief message popped up below the meters:

“A total wuss. That’s what you are. Zero courage. Why don’t you lock yourself in your bedroom and write poetry or something.”

According to an Xseed representative, players must input their gender and astrological sign into the game for customized ribbing should you fail a mission.

Like we aren’t called names enough in our daily lives.

Game’s out in October on both sides of the pond.
