The Neverwinter beta is coming to an end soon, and it is going out with a bang of sorts. Starting today, a three part event for players in the beta will commence along with double the rewards until June 17. Then, the second phase starts in which players will be tasked with guarding the Protector’s Enclave until June 20. Finally, the third phase on June 19 add stronger and more monster. Those who succeed in the final two phases will be handed a companion, special rewards and other goodies. The event ends when the game launches on June 20. To get you excited for launch, Cryptic has released a new “What is Neverwinter” trailer. Enjoy.

Cryptic Studios has announced the Legacy of Romulus expansion for Star Trek Online has gone live. STO players can choose to play as a Romulan or Reman through new story-driven mission arcs, and Denise Crosby returns to reprise her role as Empress Sela. New Romulan ships and enemies have been added and the Klingon faction has also been updated with full level 1-50 progression. You can still purchase Legacy and Starter Packs at the official website here.

Neverwinter players who are playing the beta may have noticed a rollback, after Crytpic was informed by players of an exploit which some players used to their economic advantage. Recall the recent exploit in Diablo 3 which resulted in the Auction Houses being brought down and you get the idea.

Neverwinter, currently in open beta, has a new video available to show you what you’re missing out on if you aren’t testing it. The video gives you a look into to the Whispering Caverns, mines which are located below Neverwinter. Wouldn’t you know there would be a Beholder lurking in the tunnels. Hateful things. Legacy of Romulus, the first expansion to Star Trek Online, has a new video and screenshots available. Set for release in May, the expansion contains numerous content additions such as the playable Romulan and Reman speciesm the ability to pilot the Romulan Warbird class starships with their Singularity Core and speaking of factions, every faction will be playable from the beginning of the game as of the update. The Tholian Reputation system will also be put into place. It’s a large update, and you can get a glimpse of it below.

Neverwinter will have mounts. Shocking for an MMO, isn’t it? In all seriousness, we’ve been handed screens and a trailer featuring the mounts in the game, and as a mount collector myself, I find the horses to be rather lovely. I have no desire to ride a spider, even if it’s virtual. To each his own, though, and if you purchase the Hero of the North Founder’s Pack, you’ll get one. That would make Lolth proud.
