Speaking at a panel at Anime Expo, as reported by Siliconera, NIS America president Souhei Niikawa confirmed a fifth core entry in the Disgaea series is on the way from Nippon Ichi. Fans were asked to wait patiently for further details, so it’s not clear whether the game is in production yet or just the logical next step for the team once The Witch and the Hundred Knights wraps.

Acquire’s multiplayer action title Clan of Champions will not be published in North America, according to NIS America. It will, however, still release as downloadable title on PSN this summer and the PC version is slated for later this year as well via Steam. The game, which was released earlier this year in Japan as Gladiator Vs, can be played solo, but it seems to be a better experience when played as a three-player online co-op title when doing missions. Andriasang has some first details and artwork for Special Report Division, Nippon Ichi’s second 20th anniversary celebration title. The Vita exclusive is set in a TV station, as previously reported, but it turns out the titular “special” refers to to the paranormal nature of the investigations. Still no word on what gameplay actually involves. Four characters have been revealed so far, a cheerful man, a mysterious man, a cheerful woman, and a mysterious woman. All boxes ticked then. A teaser site goes live today, but in the meantime, hit the link above for the art.

Nippon Ichi has opened a teaser site for its second 20th anniversary Vita game. We still have slightly less than zero idea what it might be, but now there’s a picture of a sad girl to lok at while speculating.

A second English language video for Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland has been released by NIS America. Siliconera‘s reporting that NIS America is set to bring Hyperdimension Netpunia Mk2 to Europe earlier than its US counterpart on February 24. The PS3 RPG effort will come out after the EU launch on February 28.

NIS America has announced Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland will be released in May, a good year since its release in Japan. Back in November, the firm announced it would release in the US and Europe during “spring 2012″, and while May is indeed in the spring, at least we know the month now. Light at the end of the tunnel, fellow Disgaea fan club members. Dengeki, as reported by Andriasang, has word that Nippon Ichi’s new PlayStation 3 RPG, The Witch and the Hundred Soldiers, has been firmly dated for Japanese release on June 28. Players take on the role of the titular witch, commanding an army of undead knights, and can equip up to five weapons from a choice of ten different types, while exploring an open world. It sounds ideal. Let’s have it in English please, NIS America.

NIS America has released 33 shots of Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention, its enhanced remake slated for Vita. Scheduled to hit Japan with the system’s launch, it will release in the west during spring 2012. You can view the entire gallery over on Gematsu.

NIS has announced the third Atelier title in the Arland sub-series will be localized for the US and Europe. This means you can expect Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland to release on PS3 sometime during spring 2012. The game features a development system which allows the player to add new areas and facilities to the game world, which over time, will change its appearance. The turn-based battle game see the heroine, princess Meruru, become an apprentice of the alchemist Tortori Helmod. Thanks, Gematsu.
