Project X Zone trailer shows off Resonance of Fate characters

Project X Zone has an enormous cast culled from 29 games published by Capcom, Namco Bandai and Sega, all somehow smooshed together in a 3DS exclusive strategy RPG. You should probably just try it for yourself thanks to a couple of demos, but this trailer, starring a couple of the Resonance of Fate crew, gives some idea of how it all works.

One Piece: Romance Dawn headed to 3DS

Namco Bandai is bringing another One Piece game to 3DS in addition to the all-new Unlimited World Red. According to Gematsu, the second title is a port of 2012 PSP release Romance Dawn, which never made it to the west. Don’t hold your breath for either title to be localised this time, either; Romance Dawn hits Japan in August.

Project X Zone: ‘A lethal surprise’ demo on 3DS now, second demo coming June 27

God Eater 2 video shows over nine minutes of footage

God Eater 2, the sequel to PSP RPG Gods Eater Burst, has a new nine minute video available below, which was shown during the Nico Nico Super Conference. As Gemastu noted, it’s rather blurry, but you still get an idea of how the Boost Hammer and Charge Spear work. Game’s due in Japan on PSP and Vita later this year.

Idolm@sater Shiny Festa games available on the App Store

Namco Bandai has released localised versions of three of its popular Idolm@ster games for iDevice. Rhythmic Record, Melodic Disc and Harmonic Score are ports of the Shiny Fest PSP games, and are available now from the App Store for $55 each. Each one contains an original animated feature, different idols, and free downloadable tunes, and weighs in at a hefty couple of GB each.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 has shipped 1.2 million units worldwide, according to Namco Bandai via Siliconera. Shipment figures do not necessarily equate to sales, of course, but are a good indication of retailer expectations. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 fighter released in the US in early March, popping up in the NPD’s charts, before heading to Europe and arriving in Japan last week. I don’t know much about Naruto byt CyberConnect2 certainly make lovely-looking games.

Star Trek: The Video Game’s story creation discussed in latest video

Star Trek: The Video Game is out soon, like, next week soon. In it, you can co-op as Spock and Kirk as they fight off the Gorn – who are more than just B-movie style monsters wearing evening dresses this time out. The game has a storyline original to it, and you can hear all about it in the video below. Game’s out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 across North America from April 23 and across Europe on April 26.

Soul Calibur 5 headed to Games on Demand, PlayStation Store

Namco Bandai Games has announced a digital release for Soul Calibur 5, more than a year on from its PlayStation 3na d Xbox 360 retail launch. Destructoid reports the fighter sequel hits the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Games on Demand on April 23 – next week’s network update – and will cost $20. Project Soul managed a Metacritic average of 77 and 88 for the two platforms, and released a ton of customisation DLC post-launch.

Digimon World Re: Digitize Decode trailer released

Here’s a trailer for Digimon World Re: Digitize Decode, the 3DS remake of Tri-Crescendo’s PSP love letter to the earliest Digimon World games. It has twice the story content of the 2012 original as well as all new Digimon, and hits Japan in June. No word on localisation yet; Digimon titles are a bit hit-and-miss on that front, and the PSP version didn’t make the jump.

Dark Souls 2 comp offers the chance to design an in-game item

As with the original, Namco Bandai is offering you the chance to see your design featured in-game in Dark Souls 2. The competition, which opened today and runs until May 13, is hosted on the series’s Facebook page, and challenges you to design a shield. The lucky winner, chosen by community voting and a panel of From Software judges, will see their vision transformed into a 3D asset. Just Like Dark Souls and head to the Shield Design app to get started. Dark Souls 2 is headed to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is expected either late this year or in early 2014.
