Years ago when Minecraft was still in beta — only on computers back then, but still very popular — Markus ‘Notch’ Persson was invited to visit Valve in Washington, and while there he received a job offer from the juggernaut publisher. He turned it down, and explained why in new book Minecraft: The Unlikely Tale of Markus ‘Notch’ Persson and the Game that Changed Everything.

In what could perhaps be seen as the breaking of a very minimal barrier, Mojang has announced at Minecon that they will be integrating streaming to Twitch.tv into the game.

Mojang’s collectible card game Scrolls could end up going to free-to-play if sales don’t pick up soon. The game has been in paid beta since June, where it quickly racked up 100,000 sales. However since July it has only managed 10,000 sales, with around three or four thousand players a day.
